Post-Match Thread and Ratings Torquay United 1-0 Southend United

Absolutely. Basically the whole mess is because PB is trying to shoehorn Coulson into the team. White and Hobson were the basis of a good back four last season in the division above.
They were okay for a team defending for their lives, but both have incredibly poor distribution - not what you need for a team trying to win games of football rather than squeaking a draw.

We need division 1 quality players to get out of this league michael timlin ryan leonard adam barrett Campbell rice wayne gray freddy eastwood kevin maher mark gower

It’s nothing to do with the manager. Changing a manager again and again and again and again brings nothing. We are and will be doomed until Ron goes. We know this will not happen but it’s a fact. His burnt so many bridges with Southend people and the football community, his taken the p### out of all the fans for years and we just let him get away with it all the time.

Anyone can write debt against a business, the reason he does this is because he can’t run a budget to run a lemonade stand let alone a football club.

Feel sorry for all those fans who have to drive home from this crap. Also poor Chris Phillips at the Echo, how we hasn’t left yet, what a job the last four years!!!

The team looked so poor against aldershot. It was upsetting

Neither Egbri or Bridge are wing-backs, so why are they playing there. Arguably our best wing-back, Ralph, is playing CB and we wonder why the performances are awful.

Add to that a centre midfield with no pace, and you have the makings of a cr@p side!!!

Brown was bought in for one job only. Recruit a load cheap pl;ayers that may or may not keep us in the league. But the word is on 'cheap'. Brown has nothing to loose he has a contract and if he does well great he could move on to better things if not 'meh'
He does have something to lose. There is no way he's ever getting another job in football if he fails here. Bloke has barely won a football match since 2017. Didn't he win something like 4 in 30 in India?

Disagree, that position is the final word. Sure, you want your forwards to be forwards, etc, etc. But none of our yoof looks like they'll hack this league. For those absent, you'll be stunned to know Egbri looked imploringly at the ref as he was brushed off the ball and went to ground. Did he get a free kick? Did he hell! Nor will he. Whatever slot you drop him in, the same's going to happen.

Better than than Tuesday. Torquay wanted it more than us, got the lion's share of the chances and (admittedly) deservedly won it.

Spoke to Ricky Duncan for the first time ever on the train platform on the way back, and I must say what a gent and a professional: happy to give up a small portion of his time to talk to the fans of the club who recognise him and ask respectful questions. Says PB has time in RM's book as they see the current issues as "confidence issues".

PB keeps commenting on not enough characters or fight in the team. It's not that, they are now trying very hard. He seems blind to the has beens, the lack of quality and pace. He's concentrating on the wrong things. We're meant to be signing 2 players this next 2 weeks, lets hope he gets this right, and doesn't go for two old, slow war horses. The other thing is these players on loan, they all seem to be really poor.

RD getting a train? Did he not want to risk walking round the front of the bus?

Is it's Rons lack of confidence in PB that's the problem?

Precisely. And if they are all characterless spineless losers, then he should resign immediately as he signed or resigned most of them.

I dont buy this losing mentality thing. Most of the players werent here last season. And he should have had the nous to get rid of the perpetual losers like demi and white.

Its all bollocks

On past recruitment plans , I think 2 players in, in 2 weeks is optimistic.

Let's be honest he was never getting another job in football anyway after India. The only club that was going to give him a job was us
