Blimey was that really 31 years ago!! Remember it well, and Essex Radio (or whatever they were called then) played There Must Be An Angel by Eurythmics, the next morning on the radio

Had a rare foray into the West that night.
Feared for the fledgling Simon Royce, but deliriously happy by the end.
It's a close run thing, but was maybe a tad happier to beat them than Man U, sacrilege it may be!

I also remember it like it was only just a few years ago.
I had just moved back to Southend permanently after being taken away from my home town in late 60’s. Dads job took him to Lowestoft and as a 11 year old had to go too. It was to far to come back to see my hero’s so I missed rest of the 1960’s and most of the 70’s and 80’s. With just the odd game here n there when visiting relatives.
