So what did i learn from Justin Part 2

Cricko

Zone Owner ⭐⭐🦐
Staff member
Now we are best mates 🤣

Firstly this is all a 5 year plan so people will have to be patient.

1. That the Embargo will be lifted as soon as he has full control, which at that time the bills will be paid.

2. He has been to see the porta cabins that will be needed for the new training ground, he would of liked a permanent building there but there is just not time right now. We will stay at BL until Christmas and hopefully move after that.

3. A fan zone will be built in the car park and the council are onside with that plan, the other local pubs will be involved with this.

4. He wants to incorporate the ladies team into the club at some point in the future, as other clubs have. He suggests a 4g pitch for them at the new training ground which can also be used for others.

5. There are others that have joined the consortium and their names will be revealed when the deal is done.

6. He is back off home tomorrow and then to Australia so will not be back here until December but assures me he can deal with everything at a distance, it is how the world works now.

7. He said TL runs the business day to day anyway and he is very happy with that.

8. He is shocked by the attention he has been given by the fans as it is a completely new thing for him, he is not a fan of the prem in reality and he would never have wanted to be involved with them. He said he is a project manager and this (we) are the project he intends to save and take forward.

9. Other works are already in the pipeline to improve RH asap.

10. The new company names stand for Custodians of Southend United and Property of Southend United,

If I remember anymore i will add it to this thread.

Ah yes another thing..

The club shop, as it stands the deal was money up front and they ( Macron) keep all the profits from sales etc. Justin hates this model as if he was trying to sell SUFC shirts in Hong Kong for instance the club would get zero revenue. He is going change that deal.

Before tonights match I watched the interview with Chris Phillips.

Looks and sounds like a really solid amiable guy. If first impressions are anything to go bye we are 'lucky' that he chose us as his "next project", or did Southend United seduce him and we chose him...?

I’m scared I’m going to wake up and everything is back to normal. If they can even just restore stability and respectability they will have my full thanks. I just feel they will do a bit better than that…

Heard also rumours tonight of two new score boards being put in in time for the Chesterfield game. Any truth in this?

Did you ask him anything about the 2 new companies that have been registered?
I'm sure there is a perfectly good honest answer to my question. But after the rats duplicitous use of companies to 'rob Peter to pay Paul' I question why are two companies needed to run one entity?

Had a quick chat with him too. Primarily to say thank you, then a great conversation with Gary Lockett.

He too said there was funds in place to clear the debt and make some agreements/TTPs, so we start day one debt free and a fresh slate once under new ownership.

Also, there were funds in place and a budget for the football side to manage this season and onwards from there.

It was a longer project and managing expectations was key. It is imperative to keep our feet on the ground, but getting out of this division, upwards, is a priority.

The embargo could be lifted within a day, once the new ownership is in place, with the league doing their bit and players are lined up to come in for the back half of the season.

The is a three year plan to start refurbishing The Hall, but some plans are in place, with some work that can begin immediately.

Gary was so positive, that it just makes me more excited to be a Shrimper during what the future holds.

Just a brilliant night and so positive. All around the Shrimpers bar there were people with beaming smiles and the atmosphere was so positive.

Justin was so approachable and loved the line of Mr and Mrs Justin, when referring to his wife on here. She loves the zone and from being a bit sceptical originally, will be a Shrimper in due course lol.

Again he said he went on here and thought it was brutal, but his wife loves it. Although in general he didn't want to spend too much time on here and have fans think he is spying on them.

We may have to be patient, and that may be hard over the next two or three weeks, but good times are definitely incoming!

For a while I've bored my mates who support other lower league teams with details of our plight (OK, maybe not bored as they have been great in understanding and sympathising with what we were going through).

Now I KNOW I'm boring them with how great and upbeat it all feels right now. From them saying how terrible they feel for me and my fellow Shrimpers I've had comments on how lucky they think we might actually be with what looks like (fingers crossed) proper, engaged and decent owners coming in.

Pretty sure Justin is a Sydney boy but if he ever joined our Friday Night Beers in Brisbane then he'd have a pint waiting for him from a few fans of other clubs too, because the wider football family appreciate that we need more good owners in the game.

It will be brutal and it will be emotional, due to the position the club has been in for the past 5 years. There is an awful lot of emotion riding round the place at the moment, we are only human and to have the hope of new, progressive ownership combined with what Kev and the boys are delivering on the pitch, is completely a sea change from what we have been used to.

That much is probably going to take anyone aback. I wasn't lucky enough to meet Justin, even though I felt like I spent a lot of time and money in the pubs last three days. But I am almost glad about it. As a fanzine editor I need to scrutinise and not hero worship. But for sure we deserve some good times, and I hope Justin enjoyed his time in the UK, I hope his wife is happy and most of all I hope my wife is happy cos I don't feel I can miss a game at the moment. Long may it continue.

Good job I buy all my gear when I return home then

He needs to get an Aussie Southend United Supporters branch going. We can go to a pub that doesn't charge $17.50 for a pint.

We can meet up every second year, well we're all spread out across this land.

As we can't purchase any supporters gear, Justin can import a container load for all us over here. It was going to cost me more for postage that what I was going to purchase.

Such a ****ty ron cash up front policy. Glad he's instantly seen that.

Is all this really happening? I keep having nightmares im going to log on to shrimperzone and just see page 50000 of the ron out thread....
