The Southend United Anthem.

‘Seasiders’ by Bell and Spurling featuring Terry Alderton.

First performed on the Roots Hall pitch before an old League Two game around 2004 give or take a year. Was the era when we had the Cheeky Girls, Chesney Hawkes, Bad Manners, Uniting Nations and Andy Abrahams perform before some fixtures.

The song is still played every week at Roots Hall, normally after the match has ended.

I don't know how I missed this up til now. It's absolutely brilliant. First time hearing it tonight. The singers are perfect for the great lyrics as well.

How have you missed that. Its been played after every game for years!

Badly needs remixing/remastering, sounds like a mobile phone over the roots hall speaker system.

Ill redo it if anyone has the original multitrack wavs

I'm one of those annoying old gits that get up with about 30 seconds to go and stand at the top of the aisle ready to go. So I miss this song. My pledge if we survive, is to be one of the last out the next home game.

I think a good club anthem is one where the chorus comes along next, the volume goes down, and the supporters si g the chorus out loud.

This happens at quite a few grounds around the county.

didn't Wolves once do
Here Comes Jonny Reggae.
