L D Sutton not out runs 65 balls 207

Are we determined to bowl Danish into the ground? He has bowled 57 overs already in our match against Derbyshire. Ridiculous.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Paksitani Test team leant heavily on him and told him, basically, to stop playing for us... we cannot keep using him like this.
Still, he's going for an incredibly impressively tight 1.84 an over... his return of 3/105 in the circumstances is quite remarkable.

Ended up with even better figures:
Danish Kaneria Overs 60.1; Maidens 16; Runs 111; Wickets 6

Or, looked at another way, he picked up 3/6 in his last 3 overs!!

Nice going, Danish! I still think he's being overbowled, though...

Well, we are 30-3. Seems their bowlers did better with the new ball than ours did http://www.shrimperzone.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif

A bit embarrassing if we get rolled over by Derbys, the only other time they have been near winning a match was against Essex.
Our bowling resources are stretched beyond belief, we signed Nel to replace Adams and he cries off with an ankle injury. Which makes our attack decidedly threadbare.

Considering England are touring Pakistan this winter, I think Kaneria is being underbowled....

Goughie is showing that you can score quickly on this pitch 47no off 36!
Essex 300-8.
Bet he is out within a couple of balls though.

Alas, I was far too accurate. He must have hit another 4 next ball and then got out. Irani faced with the prospect of batting with Kaneria was then out for 99.

38-4. Might there be a way back in for Essex (at least until Graeme Welch/ Botha takes the game away from Essex with a century partnership for the 7th wicket....)

Derby must be about the only place in the country where it is not p***ing down.

Flower's just out for 104.
Irani's there on 77no, but Foster has gone to join him.
Personally I'd have stuck Napier up the order as its only 31 to win, but it appears we are playing out the draw now.

Maybe spoke a little too soon. Foster having hit 1 off his first 5 balls, has moved onto 16 off 10. Essex need another 10 runs, there are at least 3 balls remaining, but don't know if any more.....

Still playing, but they appear to have been 5 dot balls in a row.
I'm now glued to cricinfo. At least 4 balls remaining....

What a fantastic victory, that's one hell of a score to chase down. Best season in ages for the Essex boys.
