Nice of the Derbyshire captain to declare on 707-7 today leaving Graeme Welch 99 not out. http://www.shrimperzone.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rock.gif

Miserable sod.
I remember Atherton declaring at Sydney some years ago with Hick 98 not out.

Here's the scorecard:

One more for my century - what? oh! (http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/shared/fds/hi/statistics/cricket/scorecards/2005/9/11939/html/scorecard.stm)

It's not as though 5 minutes will make a big difference, wouldnt be surprised that Derbyshire's s%&t bowling 2nd time round is because he's feeling a bit down about it. Would it have been his first or has he had some before?

I have an idea he does have a first class ton before.

I checked on cricinfo and he has two previous centuries - but that isn't really the point. If I was him I would have told the captain where to stick his job.

Just looked at that, the Derby captain is Luke Sutton, and this is his last game for the county.

Bet he is chewing a large slab of willow right now.
