in 2000 when there was some seriousness about a move to a new ground, can anyone remember what facilities were going to be added to the ground. I think i heard a cinema and gym multiplex. I'm thinking maybe it would be a good move if maybe a swimming pool (or aqua park) was on the forresst farm site aswell, seeming warrior squares closure is imminent - then the club could either own or rent out the swimming pool, which would provide more income. Just a thought.

I know it the only real bit of greenery we have left in southend, but that area would be great to delevop on with a resturant, public swimming pool, roller city ect, all in the one place, some where all the family can go out, and have all the entertainment in one place like the did in bristol.

A good idea, but we really should leave the speculation on what's going to be included on the site until we are in a position to acquire it... http://www.shrimperzone.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif

Not sure if this has been mentioned already elsewhere, but isn't the new Prospectus College being built on Fossetts Farm?

yep

just not the bit of the site we are looking at (but don't own)

IIRC the ancilliary developments were planned to be revenue generating, but the pizza hut plan was rejected so what they will do is a little vague now
