Went to see the 'Phonics Saturday night in Nottingham. Must admit after seeing them previously 4 times, I wasnt exactly looking forward to this, but it goes into one of my top live gigs. Superb, professional performance and they certainly dont miss that gob-sh*te Stuart at all...
I'm also proud that I never jumped on the 'Phonics bandwagon - I originally saw them on a cold Sunday morning after they were second on at the 'V98' festival in Chelmsford. Was very impressed and went out and brought "Word Gets Around" and a musical love affair started....

Really good mix off all albums. Cracking start - Madame Helga, a new rocky one, Vegas 2 times and Bartender & The Thief...
We were knackered after that! We had plum seats as well, closest I've ever been to a band at a gig and my ears are still ringing http://www.shrimperzone.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wow.gif
Much better set now after 4 albums, every song was like a classic hit - of course, all the older stuff "Traffic", "Local Boy..." etc was very popular.
Have a good night, you'll enjoy it no end http://www.shrimperzone.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

I've seen the 'Phonics 3 times now. Back in 99 and 2000 twice. And it is one of the best gigs I've been to.

Is it me, or was J.E.E.P the worst album to date? The first 2 were much better efforts and i dont get bored of listening to it whereas i've listened to J.E.E.P about 3 times and i've f**ked that right off ....

Hmmm, just listened to it front to back and its pretty good too me. The latest album, after a good start, tails off for the final 2 thirds and is quite dull.
Cannot beat the first album, classic and great to play along guitar too! http://www.shrimperzone.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/blues.gif
