Bloody hell, Worcestershire have made hay at Chelmsford today - 459/5, with a cheeky 244 for Phil Jaques...

...and that was after we'd won the toss and elected to field, given the overcast conditions!

Essex v. Worcs - scorecard (http://www.sportinglife.com/cricket/scorecard/12535.html)
I saw Bob Willis saying Essex and Surrey were miles ahead of anything else in the division. Obviously not!

Middlebrook seems to dropped in favour of Phillips, G Flower plays mainly one dayers.
Latest 599/7

611/7 at lunch... jeez... and there are some really ugly bowling figures out there:
Bowler O M R W Econ
D Gough 25 4 70 2 2.8
A J Tudor 26 5 115 1 4.4
A R Adams 29 5 113 1 3.9
R N ten Doeschate 14 1 94 0 6.7
R S Bopara 8 0 48 0 6.0
T J Phillips 37 5 163 3 4.4
Two bowlers going for 6 an over, another three going for 4 an over... just goes to show that Goughie's still got it... and no one else does.

Need me mate Jahid Ahmed out there, picked up four wickets Vs Sri Lanka and one wicket in the C & G the other day.

Do you recon they give the bowlers a sarcastic clap when they bring up their 100 runs conceeded?
Mind you the Brown Caps must of come in for shocker of the day yesterday.
Surrey managed to drop a shed load of chances, 5 alone off Martin Bicknell who still managed to take 5 wickets!!

Well, Worcs declared at 650 - a nice psychological total there, so only 501 needed for Essex to avoid the follow on...

Currently 41/0 off 13.4 ov.

He will get his 10th wicket tomorrow, guarenteed. How one side can get 650 and Gareth Batty 112, and us 186-9 I dont know. Rubbish.

283 all out Twinkle toes out for 50, added 97 for the last wicket with Ravi Bopara. Zaheer finished with 9fer.
Only another 367 for Worcs to bat again. http://www.shrimperzone.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif
16-0. Just 5 sessions to bat out, no worries!!

195/3 - Bopara 92 not out, Irani 56 not out.
Making a slightly better fist of it, but still well over 3 sessions to bat to salavge a draw.
