Mine have to be:

7 Nation Army - White Stripes
I Believe In A Thing Called Love - Darkness
El Salvador - Athlete

This is a little easier than the album choice:

1. Stone Sour - Bother

2. The Darkness - I Believe In A Thing Called Love

3. Linkin Park - Faint

4. Iggy Pop Feat Sum 41 - Little Know It All

5. Bowling For Soup - Punk Rock 101

I could go on as i really liked St Anger and Frantic by Metallica as well as Burn Burn by Lostprophets and Young And The Hopeless by Good Charlotte. There's loads of top songs that have come out this year that i've liked.

Some of them have been rather 'iffy' shall we say haven't they!?.

I've got their Greatest Hits album with all their old, more rock type songs. In fact the first ever single i bought was Country House by them. Top song that is!. http://www.shrimperzone.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/cool.gif Why they've gone and changed their style so much i really don't know.

its called moving on in life / having different experiences / getting older / experimentation.

You can't really expect them to keep churning out the novelty Britpop hits nearly 10 years later.

Just look at Oasis, no idea where they are going, just the same old pub-rock bollox......

I got them from NME's site - it has the whole album up in high quality to listen too. Just need to register (takes 30 secs) and you are in...

Desert Sessions (http://www.nme.com/features/106308.htm)

Your probably right about QOTSA album... I remember listening to it around about the World Cup?? How time flies...

May I change QOTSA then to 'Yea Yea Yea's' - Date With The Night?!

Really?? Listening to it right now and the quality is excellent?!

Obviously you are clicking "Windows Media Player High Quality".

Anyway, typical of me being behind the times, apparantly Desert Session have been going years and Josh Homme gathers some musicians every year and drags them to a desert to record a record. This one is volumes 9 & 10...

Class!

http://www.shrimperzone.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Just bought the Athlete album. Will be a "grower" I think, or at least I hope; in that, on first play-through, an awful lot of the songs seemed to be a bit samey.

That said, the song called "Westlife" (?) in particular is a cracker; and "You Got the Style" is also very strong.

Westside is the name of the song and is quality but my personal favourite is 'You've got the style' and was used by Sky at the end of the Man Utd vs Arsenal 'battle' ...
