Another very good session. Certainly suprised myself with getting over 20 mins and without those fit c**ts (Dave, Steve, Dan) being there i finished 3rd behind the 2 skinny buggers. We wont count the other 2, as i like the sound of 3rd ...

Match eventually got going after a while. The quality of the football has improved a huge amount over the past few months. I sometimes just like to stand and watch play and see what people's movement is like (whilst also givin me the chance to play upfront). Back to Jan/Feb i really did fear the worst but now the football - at times - can be very good. An example of this is our last goal. From B to Naps to me, who knocks a perfect ball onto Jack and he scores. Just had to mention that. Lol. Seriously though, more sessions like that and things will always be improving and will certainly give the management team some problems come July/August when they try and work out the best XI with 5 subs. 3 months ago it would have been a pretty easy decision but with recent additions/improvements etc... its now looking like a tricky job.

Its SZFC B'day coming up soon and i can guarantee that there will be an event which hopefully everyone can attend. More news from Shagster within the next day or so. It'll be within the next couple of weeks and i'll be helping Shagster organise the event.

Kev

Couldn't agree anymore if I tried Kev. Really well put, which btw means I won LMS for the 1st time, despite not actually being able to keep up in the last few mins.
I also agree with the comments about the progress we've made, although only being an SZFCer since Jan, I dont know what you we were origionally like. But the standard has improved a load.
We're really starting to take a lot from each session now and things are taking shape for Sept. Roll on gnat night; cant wait to get bit all over again.

Just remembered, someone left a pair of addidas kepper gloves by the bags, I think barry was wearing them. Anyway I picked em up and I'll bring em on weds. If no-one claims em then there'll be on e-bay thursday morning.

The quality of football has improved immensely but there is still much more work to be done, in particular the first touch of some people and there is still a tendency to wait for the ball to come to feet.

On the subject of selection headaches this is a great problem to have (I think). Nobodies place is guaranteed and there are still three months for talent to shine through. I would also urge people to try out positions that they haven't played before.

Big Al sent me a PM with a couple of suggestions not least of which is to have more defined formations for our training matches. This is something we need to try out on Wednesday rather than having a couple of token defenders along with six or seven midfielders/forwards.

Colin and I are always open to other suggestions for training.

Also on Wednesday I'd like everyone to bring two tops along, one of which must be white. This will avoid people confusing me for Kev. (It shouldn't be that hard, one of us can score goals the other one just hits the post http://www.shrimperzone.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif )

On the subject of LMS please make a note of your times. For me it is not a case of who comes first. It is a good barometer for me to measure people's fitness improvement over the next 3 months. Everyone should be doing at least 25% better than the times recorded yesterday by the end of August. (By the way Unc - watch out for Leeboy cheating next week http://www.shrimperzone.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif )

Some git stamped on my foot leaving me with a dirty great bruise, not especially comfortable in work shoes.

Definitely looking better guys, we have potentially about 20 training sessions before the season starts and I'd like to think we can really push on now. We're definitely never going to have any squad shortages!

I like to think that my ball to you was as good as yours to Jack, if not better.

As for positional stuff at training, i just can't control myself. One minute i'll be upfront and then the next moment i'll be playing as a sweeper. Its just the way i play on smaller pitches as i feel i'm fit enough to do it. I know it can f**k the rest of the team up, which i can understand, but it keeps me happy and stops me moaning (well........ http://www.shrimperzone.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif)
