Unavailable due to injury.

If anyone's vaguely interested I've worked out what's happened. The trainers I wore on Sunday morning are just a touch too tight, never really took much notice of it before. Unfortunately running around for 90 minutes then going for a 5 mile walk afterwards took it's toll and I've strained the ligaments in the base of both feet (or whatever it is there that gets strained) and I've been hobbling around all week. Didn't think you'd be interested.

So Jack in your list of non replies you actually missed two of the Committee. Shags(who at that point had not confirmed ) and myself. So I suggest you do as the board rules suggest and leave team matters to the management. I am sure we have been down this road before.

Oh by the way forthcoming membership will not be £10. The suggested fee is £30 but this needs to be approved at the AGM. And for the record all fees will be expected from the beginning of June, as this is the start of our financial year.

Bob Cratchitt
27-05-2004, 06:18 PM
Oh for the record Tony I will be available. After this morning's physio my back feels good and as I am not at work til Tuesday, I am trying to give it a break from computer work it should be fit for the match. On that note I will not be on here much so if you need me please use the dog.

Confirmed so far ?

Please post reply if I've missed anyone or if I've missed anyone due to be picked up at PP. What about others e.g. Twinkle, Malpas, Snowy etc ?

A reminder for everybody - we do NOT have enough blue socks to go around. If you could bring your own it would be a big help.

Also - I shall be looking for a new "volunteer" to wash the kit after the game ? Those who have done it before are excused and you won't get it unless you've been on the pitch for 45 mins? There is no point volunteering before - it won't influence the selection panel (which currently consists of me, B and H, unless Colin wishes to PM me any special instructions)

Following on from earlier comments posted on the board here -

Team selection is and always has been based on a number of factors, not least of which is full membership of SZFC. To avoid any doubts about this whatsoever (e.g. for Joe, but potentially for any of the other recent additions that have been training recently and may still wish to play Saturday) we will be looking for membership fees from the new players before they are eligible for selection (i.e. before Saturday's game).

When we set ourselves up in June 2003 the committee agreed that as we weren't joining a league and therefore wouldn't need a pitch or a brand new kit membership for 2003/4 would be £10 per player.

For 2003/4 we have joined a league and have applied for a pitch which may well cost the club £1500. A new kit will also cost around £400. We have around £1K in the bank and around 25 in the squad. Under those circumstances it is likely (but not yet confirmed) that the membership for 2003/4 will be around £30. Now if anyone thinks that is expensive feel free to ask their mates how much their clubs charge per season/match.

Given that we haven't finalised costs we are only expecting new members to pay an interim £10 towards membership.

Of course if any if the existing squad want to start paying for next season feel free to bring along a rather large wallet tomorrow. http://www.shrimperzone.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Just to confirm, I can't make it to the match tomorrow, I already have other plans, although there is a small chance I may be able to get down at some point to watch some of it.

I will come to training on Sunday to see how my legs feel, hopefully a week and a halfs lay off from this injury will have done the trick.....
