Good luck to Ronnie Irani and the boys this week against Leicestershire in their attempt to round off a good season.

Disappointing that we lost v Durham yesterday on TV (hard to follow it what with the football being on as well) but thanks to Sussex's capitulation v Notts we managed to retain the Pro40 title.

Also, I saw that we beat Derbyshire in the final of the Twenty20 Floodlit cup - although it received very little national press: Report from Cricinfo (http://content-usa.cricinfo.com/countycricket/content/story/259738.html)

Watching Essex has just continued the great times of watching Southend. Having won the National League in 2005 to then win the pro40, hopefully gaining promotion to Div 1 of the champs, making 20/20 finals day along with beating Derby to win the 20/20 Floodlit Cup this years being an Essex fan has brought many happy days.

Good luck tomorrow Ronnie et al hopefully we can wrap the season up on a high.
