I typed in Karers Southend the local group against a number of developements including the new ground.
Under:- Did I mean Carers? *Was a note important info.
When I checked it linked into Shrimper Zone Community :- They had londonblue post of 0944 on 22nd October. I.R.O. Important info re Petition for new Stadium.
BE CAREFUL NOT TO GIVE TO MUCH OF PRO TACTICS AWAY.
When I checked another site i.r.o. their on line newspaper THE SOUTHEND ENQUIRER upon going through the membership list it seems a very small group. But they like to make out that they are far larger and represent many.
Just bare this in mind, we are being watched.

So then does this mean they might be creating spurious letters from other "football fans" all over the country so the level of support gets watered down?
I see Gretna have just been given permission to redevelop their ground but only after the creation of a residents forum with the club, is this something SUFC have maybe considered to help the plans go through?

Long as the Council give us 100% support which they will, we be ok, we got more support than Karers so we can beat them hand down.

It's not about having more support, it's about presenting a well-balanced argument.
This isn't abotu democracy, we're not voting anyone in, this is about creating opportunity. Opportunity for employment, for business and so on.
Whether we number 10 or 1,000, if the council can see that the above is true, they will go for it

The 'official' KARERS website (www.karers.org.uk) expired some time ago; this was the same website onto which several misguided supporters posted one or two inflammatory messages in response to chairman Peter Bliss' assertation that a huge swathe of the northern borough would be awash with urine and faeces if the original Fossetts Farm proposal (c. 2001) went ahead.
A number of archived news items from the KARERS are still available at http://karers.blogspot.com/ but this facility has not been updated since mid-February 2004, when the B&Q public inquiry was concluded.
It's interesting to note that either they no longer have a significant online presence or they are keeping that presence very much to themselves, surely missing the point of a "community protest" and falling into the NIMBY trap.
In the recent past it would seem that the KARERS have loosely aligned themselves with the Parklife campaign group currently encamped on Priory Crescent, a group led by the instantly dislikable Shaun Qureshi. However there is currently no reference to the proposed FF development on their website (www.savepriorypark.org). (Interestingly, considering the doubts expressed last week over the impact of a petition, they constantly publicise the fact that they have gathered 20,000 signatures against the proposal to upgrade Priory Crescent.)
We might also want to keep an eye on the Essex Thames Gateway Information Group (www.thames-gateway.org) who have already questioned the plans for the northern relief road, although there are no specific references to the Fossetts Farm development ... yet.
Something else to note with regards to communication with the Southend Council: in 2003 the council had received over 600 letters of objections apparently prepared by Parklife in a standard format under the banner 'Save Priory Park' -'Save Our Park!'. It was noted very clearly that 202 or 33% of responses were from addresses outside the Borough.

Note these people, who are likely to be the sole membership of any anti-stadium group:

I guess the Karers have not updated the site since the B&Q decision, as their protests for development at the site have been blown apart so there need to find something else to protest about which have no doubt they will try, after all funny how they where backing the Hospital Annex proposed there but against the new Stadium, I believe the only reason they were against the B&Q Warehouse plans is because they knew it would open the door for the Stadium. Strange in all this is that I never remember seeing such letters of protest from the local populus whilst Waitrose plans were being submitted.
Also good old Shaun Qureshi part time squatter at Camp Bling rest of the time working in London and commuting via the Fenchurch St line, he always looks quite sheepish when I see him with his little fold up bike. Considering his supposed place of residence surely he should be using Prittlewell station or is he really living at his house and making token appearances.

Mike - i guess it is down to us the commuters of the Fenchurch St line to keep an eye out for him and watch which station he gets off. We can then report back. Of course we could always follow to ensure his place of residence.
Come on fellow c2cers this is for the cause that is Fossetts Farm Stadium. http://www.shrimperzone.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

I think its highly likely, if you look at this:
Kureshi the NIMBY - but where is his back yard?? (http://www.greenpeaceactive.org.uk/evdetail.php?id=2436)

Nothing in this world is as pathetic as an earnest bloody hippy.
Why can't we just get those three down the Spread, stick a couple of pints in them, drop them in X Block and let them feel the love? They'll be campaigning in favour in no time.

Monty Burns had it right when he said:
"Mother Nature started the fight for survival and now she wants to quit because she is losing. Well I say too bad. She should have thought of that when she was besetting us with plagues, volcanoes and poisonous monkeys."
I'm sure Mr. Kureshi would agree after a few cans of special brew.
