Christ, I thought things were bad for us but I've just seen BBC website stating that Dundee are £20 million in debt and losing 100k a week.
Utter madness! How can a club be that badly managed? I was wondering which club would be the next to fail but in the current climate you could take your pickup from an ever lengthening list.

It's pretty bad all round for them, but have you seen how close they and Dundee United are? That's just stupid!

Dundee isn't a big city either! There's two clubs with a modest catchment area in competition with each other, one of them is paying Ravanelli 10k a week when they're lucky if they get 6,000 through the turnstiles. http://www.shrimperzone.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif Their business plan could be written on the back of a fag packet! Absolutely clueless. http://www.shrimperzone.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/ghostface.gif

Dundee were offered a way out by some controversial Italian guy, name escapes me, but he had links with Arkan. Not dodgy at all, no siree.

Di Stefano is the bloke in question. Didn't realise he had links with Serb paramilitaries though!
Poor old Arkan, what a way to go! And he was such nice bloke as well......

Oh yes:
The Daily Record revealed in March 1999 that Giovanni Di Stefano wanted to invest in Dundee.
But his controversial friendships meant he had to wait more than four years before joining the board. Di Stefano was exposed as a Serb military general and close friend of war criminal Zeljko Raznatovic, known as Arkan.
Arkan's private army, the Serbian Tigers, are blamed for killing at least 2000 people in the wars that ripped the old Yugoslavia apart.
Di Stefano spent three years in an English jail for fraud.
His conviction was overturned in 1989, and he made his fortune three years later when he was involved in a £500 million takeover of MGM Studios.
Di Stefano is now thought to beworth £300 million, and his wealth was believed to be behind the recent signings of former Scotland midfielder Craig Burley and Italian striker Fabrizio Ravanelli.

Nice bloke! Reassuring as well to note that whatever you do and whoever you associate yourself with, will all be forgotten (or a blind eye turned) as long as you're rich!!!
Have the Dundee Utility Crew changed their name to the Dundee Tigers as a mark of respect for the "great" man?
Just had a thought, do you think Bin Liner or Saddam would be interested in the super shrimpers? Their wealth coupled with the love of a British football team could help rehabilitate them in the eyes of the world! *http://www.shrimperzone.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif

Thats what you call a clearout!. Makes our one in the summer look quite tame in comparison.
Such a shame, i thought this Di Stefano bloke wanted to turn them into the Chelsea of Scotland!?. Wasn't he talking about signing Edgar Davids not so long ago?.
