I know the committee have been discussing the idea of midweek training. Well how about entering a couple of teams into a five aside league that play midweek. I know Garrons and also another in Canvey do this.
This would imptove our fitness levels, teamwork one touch passing etc etc and will also be more fun/competitive than normal training. It would also sort out a venue.
Thoughts everyone?

Don't bother. I did this for a while, and it's not about fitness. Also the group who do the one at Garon's screwed me for the deposit. Plus you get loads of pikeys wanting a scr*p if they lose, oh and some people take it way too seriously.

It is not fun, believe me, and considerably costlier than normal training, where at least we could have a laugh together.

Nothing to do with being a wimp- it's a financial rip-off at best, combined with nutters and sore losers, and all are badly-organised. Suggest we do own training.
