Is it right that the 21 days for anyone to reject the plans for our new ground have now passed? Does this mean that building work will start sometime in the next 3 months? Say end of May we could see the diggers in action.......

Still obviously got to pass the D of E ruling & the revised plans for RH have to go through before any work will commence I'd say!

Isnt it 21 days from Ruthy receiving the documentation?

Perhaps Sussex by the Sea can give as an update? ( maybe on the FF thread)

I just hope that it doesnt get dragged out and stop us moving in at the start of the 08/09 season.

It is indeed, and I understand the documentation wont be sent off until the legal agreements with the Council covering transport etc have been signed, which may take several weeks.

As a result, I'm reliably informed that we definitely wont be playing at Fossetts Farm at the start of the 08/09 season (no surprise there).

Actually that is a surprise!

Says who ?

Ron Martin seemed pretty confident that was the date he was aiming for and he hasnt been wrong yet...

Always seemed optimistic to me, they'd do well to build a 22,000-seater stadium in little over a year.

They can build them pretty quick now, wasnt it Darlingtons that went up in 12 months or so ? and Col U's is going to be built for 2008/2009.

As long as they can start building by May Im sure it will be finished, Ron knows what he is doing.

The only problem is wether the red tape is finalised in time.

Or maybe the club could?

Just thinking that myself ! Basically, as Kent Shrimper/Upminster Blue say, it is from when Ruth Kelly receives the documentation which I wouldn't have thought has happened yet.

I haven't pestered Southend BC's planning department for a while so in the absence of any word from the club I will try to give them a ring next week to find out the likely timescales.

The club should definitely advise us of any updates, but perhaps there arent any.

Thats why I was interested in Upminsters comments that it definitely wont be ready for 2008/2009. If theres some information out there that backs that up fine but until I some facts Im going to hope all is progressing just as Ron planned...

Blimey, that's a long time to arrange half a dozen deck chairs around the pitch and put up some poles to tether the sheep to! ;)
