Well, even if Dazzler has gone, today's news from Chelmsford more than makes up for it...
Ravi signs up until 2009 - and hopes to play for Essex for his entire career (http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/cricket/counties/essex/6407715.stm)
Top man, and a bright future lies in store...
:)
Quality, would be a nice combo if we only lose him to One Days and Cooky to Tests, depends how they both progress I guess. The development of those two plus the signings of Bichel and Nel definitely soften the blow of losing Dazzler. I think Yorkshire really are going to see his twilight years and I'm not sure what sort of captain he'll make either.

I believe that Mark Ramprakash said that he'd like to play for Middlesex his entire career. Couple of years later he saw the light and joined the most successful club of the modern era.
2010 Bopara will see the light and join the brown caps, he'll be an ideal replacement for Mark Butcher.

Cutting to the chase here, you're basically saying you follow a team of (in the immortal words of our Irish chums on the Metro to Sunderland) "Foodge Packers"...

It would be nice for you to have a good team in 2010. Unlike Essex who have enjoyed won the Sunday League two years running, Surrey haven't won a major trophy for 4 years.

Essex are only good at one day cricket as it doesnt require them to bowl sides out to win.

Yes, but now our 47 year old opening bowler who got puffed out after his opening spell has gone to Yorkshire. This should mean that we can finish teams off after reducing them to 35-5.
