OK, a bit of perspective here - it's only feckin rugby!!!!
I'm sick of hearing about egg-chasing. Now I enjoyed a stirring English victory as much as the next man (a fine mornings entertainment down The Spread) but as has been said before we won 'A' World Cup not 'THE' World Cup. Only eight countries in the world play the game to any serious level and out of those only New Zealand play it as their number one sport. 2003 just doesn't begin to compare with 1966, fact! (sorry, turned into David Brent for a moment there)
Talk of Rugby becoming more and more popular and challenging Football is nonsense. Look at the attendances at Zurich Premiership matches, compare them to the football attendances at the weekend for cold hard facts.
So lets get it right, we won a World Cup in a minority sport and it was fun to watch. That's it - now lets concentrate on a real world sport and give the peanut hugging back to public schoolboys and sheep botherers!!!

To be honest, Andy, I keep an eye out for the Southend rugby results, because I know several people who play for them. Public school they ain't. And at least it's still our local team, we're not dicussing Arsenal (shudder) or the NY Jets...

Maybe so RM buts that not the point all i was doing was keeping everyone up to date with the scores of srfc as we are the local club just as good at what they do as srfc and are not in debt!
