Yes but Napster I have two houses and you dont even have one yet. So guess where my money goes. And before you start mentioning rent for the second property that would be nice if i wasnt such a soft touch to my low income single parent sister who is living there with her two kids.
Also you dont have a wife who is now a full time mum but still thinks she is earning her city salary when she goes out shopping. So my income maybe more than yours but my outgoings are without doubt more than yours.

Who knows?! I haven't voted in the poll - I've always thought that the details of one's salary was a private matter.
However, from the sounds of it, my outgoings are considerably less than yours, Bob C! I managed to get a top deal on my remortgage, and so I'm now paying less in mortgage for my house (less than £600/month) than a lot of people in London pay for rent on their one room. Marvellous. And I could let out the spare room in my house as well, although my little sis (a styaudent) gets to have that room rent-free, since my parents don't live in the UK, and since I think it's important for her to have somewhere to call "home".
Still, I try not to be a flash barsteward...still driving my 14 yr-old Peugeot with 120K on the clock... I guess it's good preparation for that moment when I've got kids' mouths to feed and large mortgages to repay...

We will change our car everytime the warranty runs out - basically, buying on HP, for buying our new car, the money goes down everytime (if you get a car of the same cost), due to more being paid off and so more of a deposit being available from the sale of the older car...
I always drove old bangers, but frankly, if I can, I will always ensure that as a parent I have the best transport available, and if that means getting a new car (and thus a warranty), so beit. What's the prob?!

Quote[/b] (footymad13 @ Dec. 05 2003,16:07)]Christ no ill leave that to Greenpeace,
My question is why spend 10-30k on a piece of shiny metal, get in debt (HP) and end up struggling to pay the bills all because you want to be flash and 'kool'.
Also Sunday drivers tend to get right up my nose in that they love to go at 5mph on a f**king moterway in there nice shiny BMW. Flash posing tw*ts !
(Im not saying anyone on here is like that)
But i ask the question, you can buy a house 4 30k abroad, you can take 2 kids to Uni, you can have a nice retirement fund. Why a bloody care.
Why not spend 1-2k on a half decent car that runs and gets you to A-B than...
Erm, read above. Also Mrs Durera (although maybe giving up work(!)) uses the car for work, being a health visitor. No way am I gonna have her stuck in the middle of nowhere because the cars packed up!
Have some very funny pics of our old car, but can't put anything up on the web for a bit - pm me if you can put them up for a bit...
Of course some people need a new car,
Mobile Hairdressers
Public Services
etc
Im talking about the norm of people who dont really need to spend 30k on a car but like to be seen with it.

Why do you feel the need to change cars ?
Money can be spent on much better things than a shiny lump of metal that costs 20k
Such as.........
I do 20,000 miles a year in my tin-top so I want a vehicle that is as luxurious, reliable as possible.
I like cars and if thats what the Bastids want to spend their money on then so be it!
You need more life experience before you can question "Big Boys" decisions.

Of course, your money, you earned it you thus have the choice of what to do with it.
It was a question, not a demand obviously.

FM you are off an running again!
Your theory about retirement is absolute b******s.
Life is very short and you never know when it may end as a friend of mine experienced this week. Three kids, lost his wife after an operation six years ago and lost his own life this week at the age of 45 in a helicopter accident. Three kids orphaned!
You cannot plan for that and a retirement fund is essential but there is no point saving it all for the "R" day. Make sure you will be comfortable and spend happily along the way.
As for a 1-2k car! Not my scene mate as I like my luxurious, prestige posers car!

I'm off home in my luxurious, prestige 4WD car and I am proud of it!
Bye for now.

Why eat fresh food? May as well rummage around in a bin for something someone else didn't want. It'll save you money.

Lots of room due to small penis! Well that's what Mrs McNasty told me anyway.

It doesn't matter how much I earn (which is a nice tidy sum thank you very much) as Mrs ORMs spending habits (and her wobbly bits) increase disproportionately to my earnings.
I'm sure I'd be richer than I am now if I earned 1/3rd of my current gross.

No wonder I have difficulty with crosswords!
It was late in the day after a very traumatic week!
It's not very nice discussing details with an insurance company as to how a friend lost his life!
