Accourding to the echo today, the inquiry has been adjourned pending a visit to the site next Wednesday by inspector Simon Gibbs. Also no decision is expected until after Christmas.

Not surprised by that. If the inquiry takes 9 days - I make it that - with a week for each day to write the report that would mean the report would be ready just before Christmas, and after the Secretary of State has read it and made a decision it's highly likely to be a week or so into 2008.

What a load of cack. How slow do they want to be? We thought the club might have been on site and building by the middle of this year! Delay after delay after delay - as if we haven't been on the edge of our seats and suffering waiting for a damn decision for long enough. Now it's gonna be another 3-4 months :thump: :guns: :flamer:  :(

Let's also try and get as many people down the Civic Centre on the final day as possible.

I'm pleased there will be a 'closing off' day, where we can lend our support one final time (what was that about Oct 16th in the statement ??) as it did appear that the Inquiry had just come to an end rather suddenly.

I know that i've already booked the day off, whenever it may be, (cheers boss :) ) and i urge my fellow Shrimpers to do likewise if at all possible.

Lets have a massive turnout, similar to the planning meetings, and leave the inspector in no doubt our strength of feeling about this

UP THE BLUES !!!!!!!!

The OS says the will be visiting a match to see the current state. will we know when this is? if so we need to really show them how great our support can be. maybe banners can be made for the game too

Indeed, but at least he saw a decent amount of home fans at the Hall if indeed he was there

We were told by the club werent we?

I certainly knew it would be a few months before we hearing an answer and thought that was pretty common knowledge?
