Planning Inquiry currently suspended, presumably due to start again next week. Expected round-up of everything supposed to be next Weds (Oct 16).
Inspector will go off & prepare a report of his findings hopefully by mid-Nov then the Secretary of State will go off & decide whether it's a yes or a no. Club hope January at the latest for final decision. If no, I'll guess there will be a lengthy appeals process. If yes, then it's all systems go (although somebody reported there's been some prep work done on-site already).
I'm guessing with a fairly clement winter if we got started in Jan, it's looking like it will be ready for start of 09/10 season (e.g summer 2009)!

Would doubt there has been any prep work as there is no planning permission for anything so the club would be proceeding at their own risk! I would imagine a land contamination survey and archaeological checks have been carried out, but nothing much more.
The stadium itself should probably take no longer than 14 or 15 months, but it is whether the other development is phased or not which may alter that figure.

The stadium is the first part as I understand it and the rest cant be built until thats open.

I believe you're correct there - that was agreed when the original planning permission was granted I think.

The retail park will surely be built at the same time as the stadium? The Stadium might be completed first, but due to the fact the retail units actually join the stadium then they wont be far behind. There is no way the stadium would be built & then work started on the retail units.

I think Jam Man was referring to the hotel complex and the training facilities - it goes without saying that the retail units will be built at the same time! ;)

The hotel is built into the ground, maybe it's the housing that will be built after the stadium? Anyway not long until we find out, roll on January.

Yep thats how I understand it.
My point is that although there will be different phases the stadium as I understand it will be the first part.

Well I hope they start on the training facilities pretty quick as they will be losing Boots N Laces once the building of the Stadium starts, I would have thought they would put in the training pitches first then do the Stadium. However I guess they could always use Gloucester Park again like they did under Jobson's watch.

I believe there's a caveat in the permission we recieved from Rochford DC saying that we can't start on the training facilities until work on the stadium is complete
