All I've just popped into a shop called Music something at Chalkwell Park. They sell second hand musical instruments. It looks more like a junk shop than anything but is bit of an Alladins cave. They have a Tom (the next one up from snare) for 15 pounds. They sell mini old style football rattles for 7 and tamborines come in at about 7-10. Padded drum sticks are 12, drum sticks 2. TBH I would have just bought the drum but this close to Christmas I'd have got an ear bashing from the guvnor. I told the man about the Blue Voice initiative. It might be worth the organisers to pop in and get whatever they need.
PS I asked him to put the drum to one side as he's only got one. The rest are part of drum kits.

You need someone with a 22" big bass drum and some of these bass drum sticks:- http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BASS-DRUM-BEATERS-STICKS-drumsticks-marching-band_W0QQitemZ290182306175QQihZ019QQcategoryZ68246 QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
Then the whole ground will hear you, those small drums are to quiet! I couldn't hear the drummer that well on Saturday, although I know he was giving it his best shot.

A drum at least, they're always a good song starter.
Good work.

Thats why they need to get a big bass drum, a bit like the Blackpool drummer earlier this season he was loud.

Would be good for away games, but alot of clubs won't let you in with drums etc.

Well it might have to be a case of ringing up the club prior to the game and asking for them to let you in, possibly picking up a note from the top man to show to the stewards who think they know more then they do :p

I heard it, but it was quite faint, I presume the drummer was at the north end of the west.

Unfortunately any drummers we have, need to be situated in a quiet area of the ground so no complaints can be made from supporters that arent keen on drum noise

Bit of a difficult one this, as wherever you put a drummer people will moan about the noise.... or so it often seems. :p

For gods sake, what is wrong with some people?! You dont go to a football match to enjoy the golden silence do you? You go there for the buzz and the atmosphere coupled with watching your team. If you cant deal with the noise then dont bother coming!

Unfortunately, some of the elder residents of Southend-on-Sea do though!
Or they like it quiet so they can ensure their moans of "Maher you are rubbish" or "Not another yellow card, MacCormack, deary me" can be heard!

Once Cricko has been taken to the toilet and had his cup of tea and his blanket has been tucked in, he's as loud and proud as the next Chelsea Pensioner.....

Oh I don't know, I heard a couple of middle-aged chaps in the South Upper utter a phrase like that every time he touched the ball on Saturday...! :p
