View Full Version : Blue Voice @ Wembley?

Now that a play-offs spot is likely, Wembley on May 25th is certainly looking like a possibility. So think back - remember the 2 LDV finals @ Cardiff - 20,000 Southend fans and not one song? Then the singers were dispersed amongst the tourists so it was impossible to get anything going. The same could happen at Wembley, which is where The Blue Voice could make a difference. The singing section at England matches has been a success, so I suggest that the Blues Voice should organise a singing section for the play-off final if we get there. Bearing in mind the short space of time between a semi-final win and the final, it could be a good idea if approaches were made to the club as soon as a play-off spot is secured (which if you do the maths could be as early as next weekend).

couldnt agree more, all it would take would be one section of tickets taken away and sold as singing section seats.

Yeah I really think it'd be a good idea. At a stadium like Wembley the atmosphere will definitely be one of the factors in the result - the worst thing would be to face a team with Forest with a plethora of singers, with just one or two people on our side singing.

Yeah like the original poster said, even if it's one small segment of a stand it'll make a huge difference.

Couldnt agree more. Often the singing makes the crowd an extra so called player and lifts the team. Could make a huge difference on the day.
Sing it loud and proud all the way to the Championship!!!

Problem with Wembley is that the Lower & Upper tiers are so far apart it's hard for the two lots of fans to get behind the team together, at least at the Mill Stad we had fans in the Middle Tier. Lets hope we get there and have such a problem as to where everyone is going to sit:)
I'm sure the atmosphere at the two LDV finals would have been much better had we actually played a bit better and maybe even scored a goal!!

The only downside to this is when you get people buy tickets in that area but dont sing

Yep, if we got to Wembley there would be very little time for the club to try & sell 25,000+ tickets.
I can see the big queues in the car park already:) and when people get to the ticket office they are asked if they wan't to sit in the Blue Voice section now half of those people would not have heard of the Blue Voice. The ticket office staff then have to repeat 1,000's of times what the Blue Voice section is all about thus making the queues for tickets even longer!!
Plus if the Blue Voice section was behind the goal in the lower tier I'm sure there are plenty of non-singers that would want to sit in that area as well.
Oh well, lets hope we have all these problems to sort out in a few weeks time.

or rather than an allocated section, why not all agree to buy tickets in the same block
