Its eerily quiet on here today, especially for a Friday, and don't say you're all working, cos I don't believe you.... http://www.shrimperzone.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

So whats everyone up to tonight?

I will be having Christmas dinner and drinks in a rugby club full of drunk off-duty coppers for Mrs h1510's staff christmas do.

I'm currently investigating the viability of a time machine that can only go forwards.

But how would you come back?

Ah so mentioning extra greasy bacon sandwiches with fried eggs dripping with brown sauce, washed down with 8 tequila slammers may have a few people running to the toilets then?

The assumption is that if you went forwards far enough, they'd have invented one that only goes backwards too.

Did you know that if you could count the number of times a cricket chirps in one minute, divide by 2, add 9 and divide by 2 again, you would have the correct temperature in celcius degrees?

I thought you only added 8?

Suddenly I feel like going home tonight and watching the Back To The Future, "Oh my God they've found me . . . run for it Marty"

But then if that was true, we'd have time machines all over the place right now!

Think about it.

If you had a time machine you'd hardly come back to now. Its Friday everyone is bored. You'd make sure you delayed your return until the weekend started.

Look, don't talk about what you don't know. It's been researched and proven that time machines that come backwards appear invisible to the eye of those that are from that time. Either that or they all hide in Kevin Maher's eyebrow.

Must be hard to motivate yourself to get up knowing Vange is right outside your front door.

Hmmm.

Monday - first day back from holiday. Had to get in early for training session. In the evening its my turn as a volunteer at the legal advice centre. See 4 clients, 1 is officially mad, 1 is officially dangerous, suspect other two probably are as well. Don't manage to help any of them. Return to office to make phone call to USA. Person I'm trying to call is clearly there and getting their secretary to lie for them. Eventually give up and go home.

Tuesday - spent all day doing incredibly tedious menial task. Takes so long I miss the football.

Wednesday - training all day on 'presentation skills'. So dull it made me nostalgic for Tuesday.

Thursday - incredibly hungover following office party. Turn up only 5-10 minutes late. Try to avoid colleagues so a) don't get any work b) so they forget how drunk I was night before. Doesn't work. Boss is back at work having been off sick last day and a half. Leave jacket on chair and go hide in canteen and try and recover with big fry up. On return given more work, along with sarcastic comment about last night.

Friday - Seem to be going down with the flu. Set to spend all-day doing bill summaries, meaning I'll only do about 12 hours billable work all week. As was on holiday previous week and have no intention of doing anything over Christmas this means questions may well be asked this time next month. Start booking a holiday for this time next month.

Work - I love it!
