The idea of this Thread is to give a quick summary of the cheapest Train prices from LONDON for upcoming games, which will be updated on a regular basis.

Train prices are only published 12 weeks in advance:

8th May 2010 SOUTHAMPTON £20.35 return from Southend if four travelling together, £15.80 each for four travelling from London ALSO Check out the Megabus site for really cheap prices from as little as £2.50 return from London.

THIS IS ONLY A GUIDE, for further details look at the thread for each trip.

These prices are posted in good faith but please check prices and times for yourself before booking.

in the majority of cases, it is much cheaper to get a seperate ticket from southend to London than buy a straight through one

Thanks thats it, the only cheap train fares are advance tickets which tend to be from London (i.e on the scunny trip Ldn to Sheffield a bargain £8) so you'll have to add on to these prices the fare from Southend or where ever you live plus tube/travecard.

I do look for Southend prices but it tends to be cheaper to buy separate tickets.

Well done Steve you passed the test I just wanted to see if anyone reads these posts and you spotted my deliberate mistake, (or perhaps not).

Pete, I think it's worth pointing out that for London games you can buy a One Day Travelcard, which from Benfleet is about 12 quid on a Saturday. Obviously there'll be a tidy few who work in town who will be able to use their rail season tickets.

Thanks Harry your right of course and I perhaps need to amend the details for London trips this weekend.

The problem is that if I quote fares from Southend others want fares from Basildon or Benfleet or Shoebury or Wickford etc. and it all gets confusing, generally for out of London trips the cheapest way is usually to buy from Southend (or wherever) to London and then from London to destination. I asume (probaly incorrectly) that people will know the best and cheapest way from their local station to London.

Your input appreciated, for me London trips are the hardest to advise on.

Cheers Pete, I agree with that London trips are the worst to advise on. Maybe it's just best to post the one fare from Southend, then those travelling from further up the line will be able to budget for a pound or two less.

19th December EXETER CITY from £30.90 from London

According to National rail the cheapest fare to Exeter is now £49.45.
london to exeter central is £43.90 and to St Davids and St Thomas station it is £49.45. However there are different fees from Waterloo via Hointon and Paddington direct. I have not confirmed all of these prices yet just for your info.
