Saturday 30th August 2008 3.00 p.m. Kick off

Herewith some details (previously printed on the Train thread).

Ticket prices :£18 Adults, £12 Seniors and £12 Juniors.
These can only be bought from the Walsall ticket office on 0871 663 0111
If you pay on the day £2 is added to the above prices.

A bit of extra info on Walsall:

The ground capacity is 11,300 we get covered seats behind the goal, ideal for making a bit of noise, Walsall fans were very quiet last year.

Our last two visits:

20 October 2007 We won 2-0 with goals from Peter and Leon Clarke
We took 502 fans out of a total gate of 5,661

13 August 2005 We drew 2-2 with goals from Wayne Gray and the Goat (making his debut I believe). We took 529 fans out of a total gate of 5,563.

So the past two trips have been good results and a good day out with over 500 there each time.

The ground is right next to Bescot Station and has a large car park. No Pubs in the near area to the best of my knowledge, but the Walsall Supporters Club usually make you very welcome for a small admission charge and has previously served hot food at reasonable prices. In fairness Walsall fans generally seem quite friendly and appreciated the football we played on both these occasions

COACH

The SHRIMPERS TRUST at www.shrimperstrust.co.uk are running coaches as detailed on their website or on the Trust forum on Shrimperzone. Tickets are very reasonable, with a new student price, and a new pick up point at Rayleigh Weir and tickets can be booked on line, or by phone or at the Shrimpers on match days.

SHRIMPERS ON LINE (SoL) are also running coaches again at very competitive prices see their website at www.theshrimpers-online.co.uk where again you can book on line.

Both services are excellent value look at either or both websites for details.

ROAD

For directions to the ground look at the front page on Shrimperzone at the section marked Map and follow the instructions i.e.

Hold down the left mouse button and move the mouse to shift and pan the map. Click on the players to pull up details of the club and then get directions to the ground.

Excellent feature you can get directions from your postcode.

Alternately look at www.theshrimpers-online.co.uk under the Away Travel Guide they have directions to the ground which also has an excellent new feature where you can key in your postcode and it will give directions from your house to the ground.

Altso Shrimpers on Line have a local hotel guide included in their site.

IF ANYONE ELSE HAS MORE INFORMATION OR PAST EXPERIENCES, , OR IF ANYONE WANTS A LIFT OR CAN OFFER A LIFT PLEASE POST AWAY.

Also have a look at the ”WALSALL by Train” thread

All in all a good trip in hopefully good weather (it chucked it down in Aug 2005).

Don't miss it

Done Walsall last year.
Pretty easy to get to if driving and you can park right outside the away end. Getting out and back onto the motorway was also hassle free.

Am doing this one again.

They run a coach for just one person? I'm telling the green police.
