Coaches to Heathrow

Now folks with my visit just a couple of weeks away looks like my little bruv can't change his shift(bloody coppers). I have tried looking to see if the X1 still runs to Heathrow, but get no joy.There is a train we can get from Leigh that gets us to Heathrow at a good time,Trouble is all those city types that will be clogging up the underground when we arrive at Fenchurch street. Back to the question, is there a bus from Sarfend direct to Heathrow or even via victoria? We have to be at Heathrow about 10 ish.

This is the best I've been able to come up with, National Express run a service from Stansted to Heathrow which you can book on quite easily, so if you can be taken to Stansted this might be a good bet. Their website is here

Stephensons took over the X1 but I don't think they run it anymore. I think a cab all the way would be about £80. There may be some regular mini bus shuttle services but I've not turned anything up. Maybe someone else may have other suggestions.

John - There are some good private taxi services that do airport runs. We've used one in particular that was excellent but haven't got his number to hand (probably on a boat with the rest of my belongings somewhere en route to Oz). Someone on here may be able to recommend one though - they really aren't that expensive and it is totally hassle free and door to door.

Have a great trip back and please have a pint in The Spread for all us exiles. I've not been out here long enough for full blown home sickness yet but do get a little sad that my first trip back is likely to be a couple of years away yet.
