Right, it looks as if we don't have Java downloaded on our computer, and seems like it's required to get into the new chat room. When I try to download it, it comes up with
"Java (TM) Plug-In Fatal Error
Several Java Virtual Machines running on the same process caused an error."
As you'd expect this is all a completely alien language to me and therefore, if anyone very patient can give me some easy to understand advice I'd be very grateful.
Thank you!

----------------------------------------------------------------------
- <Control Panel>, <Add and Remover Programs>, to remove all but the most current version of Java
- Via explorer, navigate to [ c:\Program Files\Java ] and delete sub-directories of all but the most current version of Java
- You may want to run your favorite registery cleaner at this point.

- OPEN IE
- <Tools>, <Manage Add-ons>, <Enable or Disable Add-ons>
- in [SHOW] drop-down, select [Add-ons that run without requiring permission]
- [DISABLE] all Java Plug-ins, except the most current. If there is more then one entry for the most current, [DISABLE] all but the last one in
the list.
- [OK] and then restart the browser
