What a nightmare of a city Bristol is, horrendous road trips, delays on the motorways or going by train to stations miles away from the ground.

This is one trip we really do need feedback so hopefully the next trip can be smoother. So please tell us about your journey good or bad such as:

How did you get from the Station to the ground and back
Road journeys good or bad

and if you were lucky enough to have time for food and drink

Where to eat and drink

One quick question, regarding the train stations.

Which one is nearer, as I thought there wer3e twoin Bristol, "Temple Meads" and "St Pauls(?)". Are they both miles from the ground or was one better than the other?

Went by train as you know as you booked my tickets.

Ground is miles away from the station so we got a cab. £10.70 was a bit of a knock.

Drinking wise the Queen Victoria was recommended by True Blue after the fitst pub we went in was crap and really good but very pkiey. Chip shop opposite served chips and battered sausage for £2.20

Even though I moaned at you the 19.35 was a good time back and I got home at 11.30pm so cant grumble.

We were waiting for two of our party to come down from Essex with the tickets before we could leave, but they were caught up in traffic. Cue mild panicking, but we eventually left just after 12pm and had a really good journey, getting to Bristol just before 2pm. Joining the M4 at Newbury meant we missed all the problems at Reading I've read about on here.

The ground is very easy to get to by car, it's signposted from junction 2 of the M32, it's just then a question of finding street parking somewhere. We parked about 10 minutes' walk from the ground, but in the right direction, so that even though the supporters' coaches passed us as we were walking back to the car, because the traffic was so heavy, we managed to walk past them and join the queue in front of them.

went halfway friday evening. 3 1/2 from Barking to a place near Andover breezed into Bristol the next morning arriving arounr 10.15 , bit of shopping with the step daughter in Gloucester road, Lunch and a beer, then 20 minute walk to the ground.
I too liked the smoking arrangements and the coffee was cheap.

If I was to go there by train, I would change at parkway and get a train (1 an Hour mind you) to Montpelier , then its a 20 minute walk up the gloucester road (or a bus)

Went by the SoL coach and what a good crack that was. Some excellent banter and enjoyed a 2-2 draw. And hopefully got on Steve's nerves most of the journey? ;)

No point getting of at parkway to get a train to montpelier then a 20 minute walk.Get 73 from right outside parkway station takes 15 to 20 inutes then right outside ground

Went by coach and also saw a 2-2 draw, had to help Steve out with his shattered nerves of having Ricey on his back. I think he got him back though.

Drove from Chadwell Heath on Saturday at 9.00, but made the mistake of not putting air in the tyres beforehand! we stopped at South Mimms for air, Coffee & chocolate croissant!

We hit the jams on the M4 with the signs saying delays between junctions 8/9 & 10. A few minutes later they added junction 7 to that, which was a pain as we'd just gone past it!! We ended up cutting through Reading & getting to the ground with 20 minutes to spare after dropping off the G/F at our hotel! We stayed at the Jury's Inn in the centre of Bristol. They had a very good special offer available & was well worth the money!

I would like to apologise to Mr & Mrs Tinkerbell for warning them of the jams. As a result they missed them & got to the game in time to watch that ***** performance! Sorry!

Came down by train from Manchester ('quick' 3 1/2 hour journey) getting into Bristol Temple Meads at quarter to 12. Got a mate who's living there so met up with her beforehand.

City Centre's alright although lots of winos (even for a big city). The Waterfront's quite nice (10-15 minutes walk from the station) where there's a number of pubs and restaurant's by the harbour and the 73 bus goes from near there (in the direction of Cripps Corner). On the way back I got the 73 to Parkway station.

Like Jersey Shrimper said, if you're coming by train, the 73 bus is the way to go. It runs along the main road next to the Memorial Stadium. It's about 20 minutes ride from the City Centre and 15 from Parkway station. Price was a bit dear for a bus- £3.60 for a return from Parkway or £3.90 for a day ticket if you want to see the Bristol sights!!

Rare treat to stand in terraces for once (especially on the back of the over-fussy stewards at Scunthorpe)- they don't make football stadiums like they used to!!

We were forunate enough to miss the holds up on the M4 due to some good reliable traffic reporting.
We left home at 10 am and apart from the slight detour to avoid the first few junctions on the M4 arrived in Bristol around 1.30 ish. Parking was not too much of a problem as there was ample street parking available. I am going to skip the bit in the middle - between the hours of 3-5 pm for obvious reasons. Getting away from the ground was fairly simple and straightforward and was well signposted for the M4.
Managed to arrive home in time for the X factor.

Went on the 10:00 and got the 19:35 back. Walked the bus centre in the city centre and the fare for a return was £3.60. Think we went in the queen Victoria as it was one of the only pubs near the ground. Went into the 'Mall' on the way back for a bite to eat.

Look Tinks, how many times do I have to apologise for causing you & Tony to watch that crap & not get held up in the jams. I will say it again.

I AM SINCERELY SORRY MY ACTIONS.
