For those with an inclination to explore another strange world here's the Little Gazette's usual excellent Pub crawl for the best Pubs in the area, with the best beers:

Some of you of course, may prefer a more basic Pub, so if you know of, or have been to, an “all right boozer” that’s ideal for a meet on the day, then please pass it on.

You can also still go to the Drury and the Fat Cat pub in Butt road, they are both near the old ground of course but the free shuttle bus runs from both of these pubs. Obviously not suitable for trouble makers as you will all be on the same buses but many away fans have used them before without incident.

I believe there are concourse facilities for away fans to buy a pint, hot drinks, burgers, pies etc etc in the stadium, there certainly is everywhere else I will check with the club and let you know for certain. You can also watch SKY in several areas of the concourse, place a bet, you can even answer a call of nature in a clean and modern environment, you dont get one toilet between 1000 of you any more like Layer Road :D

Alternatively, free parking at the Dog and Pheasant if you have a drink, which i'm told ain't that far away. It's a Hungry Horse boozer so cheap and great for some munch as well.Get there early, parking for about 50 motors on their website it seems.

I'll be there!!

Sorry for the late reply I didnt get an answer until today.

Yes it has been confirmed by Matt at Colchester United, you have the full facilities that the home fans enjoy on the concourse, SKY tv, hot food, hot drinks, alcohol, betting etc. So if you are rich enough you can buy a pint, a pie and have a bet whilst watching some premier rubbish on SKY!

Enjoy your day.

No probs mate, get there as early as you can, the concourse was almost a no go area for the England game due to crowd congestion, and the crowd could be that sort of figure again.

Where did any of you lot go drinking in Colchester? I am off tomorrow and was wondering if there was anywhere you would visit again or even avoid

Cheers
