just how many times do we have to prove to these strange people that "Their's only One Team in Essex".

Come on then tell us about your Day! Good or Bad tell all.

We know the game was all good MOOOOOOOOOOOOOSE, but what about trains, buses, cars, coaches, parking, the delightful trek back from the ground, or anything else.

trip there was fine, game was pretty good, result fantastic but the exit out of the main car park was hell. as previously stated took over an hour to get out barely moving. will not be parking there again.

support was great just to add.

parked at station at 2pm. got on the park & ride, nowhere near enough busses. had to queue for 45 mins. got to ground for 2:55pm. didnt get back to station till 6:10pm. kicked off on my bus there & back. why dont they have one queue for home & one for away fans ?! more busses needed regardless.

didn't bother using the Col U shuttle bus, was quicker to walk then to queue and wait for one.

Having parked up at Chelmsford services for about 40 minutes and yes, while it was lovely coming across the team coach, why oh why did the coaches have to leave so early when we weren't allowed in the ground until half past 1? Only criticism from me, coach journey itself was fine as usual, just a mare getting back to the A12 afterwards.

I posted this message under the "where you all parking thread on Friday"...
Knowing what they are like at Col Ewe the coaches will not be allowed near the ground until 1.30-1.45 so take a magazine with you, in fact taking the coach departure times into account - take a book.

Did you not take a book with you ??

Didn't mind bumping into the Southend players at all! Just questioning the "why" of it all.

Why did the coach just not leave a bit later? Seems a bit strange to me!

We got to colchester at just gone 12, parked at the train station and ended up in the beefeater about 5/10 minute walk away from the park and ride had fish and chips and a couple of pints of Pride. Queued for about 20 minutes for the park and ride so go to the ground about 2.30.

Walked back after the game because we didn't fancy queuing or sitting on a bus with that lot, saw a bit of aggro on the way out of the ground nothing that bad though. Took about 25 minutes to get to the station and we was out of there by about quarter to 6. Definitely going to do the same next time.

In fairness the SoL coaches did leave a little later, and they drove straight to the ground and got there just after 1.30 with no stop on the way.

In hindsight that was probably the right decision, but its easy to know what you should have done after the event. Both Trust and SoL do an excellent job and it's not always easy to anticipate, but the important thing is that all Coach travellers where there in plenty of time.

SoL left later and as you say was probably was the right decision, not bad for a organisation that has never run coaches to Colchester before. Surely the Trust leaving Roots Hall at 11.30 and not being allowed to turn up at the Care in the Community Stadium until 1.30 was always going to mean a wait along the way and they would have known that they could not arrive at the ground any earlier than 1.30 from their previous experience of Col Ewe trips.
