From footballgroundguide:
"If you are arriving by train then the Brewery Tap near to the station on Westgate, is worth a visit. The home of Oakham Ales, this spacious bar serves good beer, Thai food and allows you views into the brewery itself."
what time are people getting on the train up there?

Give me a chance, I've forgotten the names of the places we used to go - I know there's a great pub/restaurant at the entrance to Nene Valley Park, the other side of the town from the ground but near the A1, and there's also a really nice pub by the river in the town centre, it might be the Brewery Tap, I'll check!

Ok, the "family" pub/restaurant which is a Beefeater, is called the Granary and is at the entrance to Ferry Meadows country park (on the A605 I think). The other one, in the centre of the town on the river is now I think Charters. I know we're meeting friends for a meal afterwards, don't know where that will be though!
