7 months ago this didnt exist. There was always talk over on Jai's site about having a fans team. It never materialised and if SZ never would of been created i doubt we would be in this position today.
This time 7 months ago i didn't know any of you ugly bunch of scally wags. We've all learnt to love and hate each other. We've all learnt everyone's characteristics and we are now starting to become a team. Not just a sh*t team who are mates, but a team that has made great progress over the past few months and we are now starting to find out who the good players. I know who the good players are, i know what players can improve if they put their mind to it and i know we need a few more players so we have a good starting 11. This next 6 months is the 2nd stage. Stage 1 has gone. Stage 2 is crucial. Training WILL get harder, decisions WILL be tougher to take and we WILL improve as a team and Tony will know his best team come July time.
Lets stick together, work hard, be at training every week and improve your fitness. That part is up to you. If your not the greatest of players make sure you work on your fitness that could get you in the team. Those who have natural ability and skill tend to get away with but everyone needs to work in the same direction.
Lets hope this time next year, we doing OK in the Southend Sunday or Sceptre League and have progressed alot further.
Now lets beat the 'Boro (he says nervously), turn up to training and go to the pub to watch the draw live at 3pm after the game on BBC 1 ...
Here's to a good 2004,
Kev
