DoDtS is back.

Well the question of the day last night was when have we ever won at Brentford, but forgetting that how was your trip.

For me the New Inn on one of the corners was a decent boozer.

The Bees have a great number of boozers, close to the ground,a luxury these days.

Good journey from Liverpool Street with MtS

Met Ux and 3 friends in The New Inn. Nice pub as stated above.

Game - Hmmm...

Journey back OK to Waterloo. Then tube to London Bridge, and thought I'd hop off there and get a bus back to Liverpool Street, as I didn't fancy missing 1 at Stratford and being stuck there for 30 mins. Got on a bus, didn't really take much notice of where we were, until the bus came to a halt and din't move for 5 mins. Looked out of the window and saw a sign to Liverpool Street going the opposite way to where our bus was headed. Spoke to the Bus Driver, who basically had got lost !. Realised I was at the bootom of Threadneedle Street, so walked back to Liverpool Street from there, missed the train by 10 mins !!!!! Finally got in at about midnight.

You should have said hello again - my memory is rubbish at the mo! Went with SOL, easy journey up to London, made Hammersmith flyover in just over an hour, then took nearly an hour and a half to get that last 10 miles or so. Absolute joke of a performance with the coaches at the ground!!! Big panic on the policeman's face when he realised how many coaches he had to deal with! :D

Took about an hour and a quarter going home via the North Circ, home by half 11 - ended up sleeping on the settee and the floor as someone else had confused what I said and thought I wasn't coming home!

607 to Ealing, two pints in the North Star, 65 to Brentford, New Inn, quick kiss with OBL, three pints of pretty decent Guinness, all good.

I saw us win there in consectutive seasons 1971-72 and 1972-73, both 2-1 scorelines. Cant remember many since then.

I remember some very naughty boys getting their collars felt in the 1971/72 match.

That was the following season Harry. We went by coach in Sept 1971, about 25 of us, including Jaffa, Franklin, Maslanka and Steve Scarrott. How we got back to the coach in one piece i dont know. The following season we played them in ( i think) march 73 and went there well mob handed, took their end and had a load of 'good-uns' nicked. We stayed up and they went down.

Benji scored the only goal in a match which I think was played on a Sunday, a mere 19 years ago.

1981/2 also saw us win 1-0 with Yates the unlikely scorer.

We also won a few League Cup games there in the days of two-legged ties.

When did we last win in London, let alone Brentford?!

Barnet in the FA Cup?

Last league win I can think of would be Ben Abbey against Orient but I'm sure there are plenty of examples since that people are now going to quote at me.

Well, at the time, the Chelsea game seemed as good as a win, but the answer is probably Barnet in the Cup.

Don't think so. The one before that was also at Barnet at the back end of the 98/99 season.

Barnet in the FA Cup in 2005.

Last league win was the Ben Abbey 2-0 v Orient in 2000/01
Last one before that was Barnet in 1998/99 season (Houghton and Hodges)

Last time we won at

Charlton - 1995/96 (Dublin, Thomson and the right foot of Steve Tilson)
Millwall - 1993/94 (lee, Otto, Mooney and Ansah, 1st game in the New Den)
Watford - 1991/92 (2-1, IIRC Sussex and Dublin OG)
Fulham 96/97 in the League Cup (Rammell and Nielsen and 1990/91 in the league (3-0)
Brentford - 1990/91 (1-0 Benji)
QPR - 1963-64 (5-4 sounds like a cracker)
Palace - 1962/63 (3-2, although we ran them close in 1990/91....)

That's quite depressing really when you consider how many we play this season.

We also won a few League Cup games there in the days of two-legged ties.

I recall one there in Sept. '86, where we won 3-2. 'Tricky Dicky' Cadette got two and Derek Hall scored the other. Winning that tie got us two games v Man City, where we lost 1-0 on aggregate. Remember our fans doing the conga behind the goal at City...great stuff.

That Yates goal was a cracker, a 20 yarder with under ten minutes to go. Late October '81, IIRC...
