Does anyone know if the signalling problems on the FGE Liverpool street line have been solved?
I spent two hours sitting opposite a man with one of the most shocking mullets I have ever seen and don't think I could take it on the homewards leg of the journey.

well got the usual "fast" one ( all stops to Benfleet, then Basildon, then straight thru ) BUT it decided to slow down at Upminster............then Barking..........then stop outside Barking...........then slow to West Ham.............crawl thru Limehouse...............finally limping into Fenny taking over an HOUR instead of the usual 45 mins.

Went to Prittlewell to find that there had been signal problems at Rayleigh since 05:30 this morning. Took a low walk to Southend Central, picking up Snowy on the way, to catch the 08:03 ... which stopped at Westcliff due to a broken-down train in front of it! This train deposited its load at Leigh-on-Sea, which then tried to get on to our train. And then Snowy and I waved at Calvert as he stood forlornly at the end of the platform having not been able to squeeze his ample size onto the train! Thankfully, he didn't see us. Got to Fenchurch Street 10 minutes late ...
... still f**king off at 15:30 though for a possible renedezvouz with a couple of STC suspects in The Spread Eagle!

After 20 years it's about time I took something out of the state. First time I've ever been unemployed involuntarily. And as I haven't had a holiday in 6 years I could do with a break.
Quite nice really. You can get up whenever you want, stay in when the weather's bad and no delays on the train, FGE or C2C http://www.shrimperzone.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
Might not be saying that, mind, when the money runs out.

I've found that with broadsheet readers waving their arm and paper in front of your nose they get extremely irritated if you get up out of your seat and brush against their reading matter.
If someone was particularly annoying I would get up regualrly, glancing a slight blow to their arm and paper each time. They soon stopped reading after a few "for f*cks sake" murmured under their breath.
Though about a year ago, I did come to the aid of an Independent reader when a p*ssed up builder was giving him a hard time. I'll help anyone - so long as the b*stards don't annoy me! http://www.shrimperzone.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Train passengers in order of annoyance.
1. Fat/tall people who sit next to you and encroach upon your personal space.
2. Anyone reading the daily Mail.
3. Idiot women who have long, loud conversations without actually exchanging any information whatsoever.
4. Any moron reading a Martine McCutcheon, Posh, Becks biography.
5. Anyone with young kids that have not been sedated/worn out after a day trip to the city. In fact Day trippers flout common train ettiquette by putting shopping bags on seats and eating packed lunches.
