Now is the point of no return.
The SUSCT is for the supporters benefit and should give a lead in actions to what is happening at the club.
£60,000 loan to Ron, a big mistake, Not one murmour when Paul Brush was sacked.
You have previously been compromised and outmanoeuvered by Ron so much so that you were unable to react to situations that required supporter action but all we received was a stunned silence.

Learn from the past, you all have SUFC deep at heart, now is the time to take the lead and deliver loud and clear what we as supporters think and want.

Couldnt agree more things have to change now. We have to face facts the club is finished and AFC Southend is becoming a more viable option now. I would rather watch us in the Essex Senior League with a club run by the fans than watch us lose every week in a League we are out of our depth in.

Have to agree with you here. As a general supporter you can only glean so much about what is going on, mainly from here. There has been clear issues at the club for over a year now but the Trust do not seem to have formulated a view on what is going on, who to believe, who to support or what to do. They really should be trying to provide leadership but you seem to get more information from here. It;s a shame but there are clearly a number of pro-active people here that can perhaps rally the fans and therefore maybe the Trust has since served its purpose or lost their drive?? I hope Im wrong and they are formulating plans, but after the debacle of going behind members backs to give Ron money we donated, Im not so sure.....

Captains Log, sorry, I mean Chairman's Blog Wed 30Th Dec 2009.

'Recently the Trust (partly from their collections at matches) contributed £60,000 that may well be used to good effect in the January window. These monies are not to be given to the club as ''pooled funds'' but will prove helpful and a further demonstration of how the relationship has evolved to the continuing benefit of the club.'

'There is still a lot of work to do but I am certain 2010 will overall be a good year for Southend United Football Club and I hope too for ALL of it's supporters. My very best wishes.'
Up the Blues!
Ron Martin

Alarm bells should have been ringing for the Trust right then. He doesn't mention the money as a loan, rather a contribution. And No, that money was not used in the January window.
If you read the whole blog, he says he initiated monthly meetings with the Trust some years previous. Now the Trust basically say he is avoiding them like the plague, and won't even speak to them now that it's pay back loan time.

Not sure what you want the trust to do - be vocal, but there are plenty of different views even on this board - so they can't win by taking sides at this point. RM owns the club - the trust cannot change that. What they can do is to have a plan for if RM loses control.

Provide some direction from the fans, even just if its there opinion. Surely they were formed for times like these but they have been incredibly silent, particularly since they gave supporters money to Ron. I presume in the year or so since it became things are not right that they ahve been in contact with all the relevant players in this and have a view on how things could pan out in various scenarios? It just seems like if they are not going to serve as the focal point for Southend supporters than perhaps another organisation needs to be formed.

Sorry????
There are plenty of things the trust can do they were set up by the supporters for the supporters not by the club for Ron to manipulate and receive money from.
There is silence and complete inaction at this point.
SUSCT should be showing leadership in this time of crisis or as previously stated have they been so compromised by Ron that they are incapable of any action.

The Trust used to have a monopoly on away travel until Wino formed his own version (now known as TZ) with great success so is it time for a Independent Supporters Club ??? A lot of work but who knows...

you lot want the moon on a stick. :O)

The trust proactively contacted the person who is responsible for the Sainsburys development side of things, and the trust is digesting the information received. There is not much more to say until the information is properly read through.

They might not be inclined, or permitted, to disclose?

I think at this point the trust should remain relatively impartial (at least publicly) - no point burning bridges etc.

It's the same as everyone demanding complete transparency from the Club, just because everyone lives their lives on computers these days doesn't mean you/we have the right to know every little detail from the Club or from the Trust. The Trust have been updating statements regularly on their website and I am certain that when there is clear news or information that needs to be delivered publicly, you will know. What is the point in delivering anything half cocked or which turns out to be incorrect? For goodness sake, remember as well that the Trust members do also have work, families and lives to lead!

Whoah!

I just merely copied the tweet for those people that don't use Twitter....

I wasn't demanding anything, merely putting it forward as a bit of good news.
