Darlington have just signed Dutch winger Bobby Petta - anyone know how they managed that one? I cannot work out how they've managed to sign so many "big name" players to play in League two!?!?!

Yes (to Wijnhard).
But where's the cash coming from? Weren't they in administration at the start of the season? If so, how on earth have they got all this money to spend on players - it's not like they've got the gates to subsidise this (average gate this season - 4,164; compare that to our 5,301).
That being so, they can't be sticking to the 60% of turnover rule - so that means they're mortgaging their present to pay for their future, which is a ridiculous situation given that they've only just come out of administration. Do the words "Leeds United" mean nothing to them?

Unless of course they've now got a wealthy backer who was waiting for administration to kick in, so that he could avoid paying some old debts... And that would be a cynical state of affairs.

Still, a side with Armstrong, Wijnhard, Hignett, Liddle and Petta should surely be too good for this division?

Could prove to be a good signing or will he just come and collect his wages and take an easy ride?
