While on the thought of playing Swansea for the last time at The Vetch, i thought i would look to see what there new stadium was looking like. It looks very impressive, i must say...

... at a cost of £27 Million, and an initial capacity of 20,000.

Very nice. Wouldn't be too disappointed if ours turned out like that.

The new stadium will be home for Swansea football and the Ospreys rugby club. It will be run by representatives of the two AND Swansea council. The same council that has championed the new stadium and made it a major sporting facility for Wales. You may not remember many of my old posts and my expressed disappointment in Southend council but this highlights why. For years we have strove for a new stadium and our council has murmered a few positive sounds. I was in the Shrimpers bar in the days of Jobson when there was a public meeting with regard the project. I asked the council representative why they were not helping Southend to find a place to build. His answer? ' It is for Southend to propose a site and for us to sanction it. We cannot actively suggest positions'. Thanks Southend council. take a look at Swansea and see what you should be doing. Not libel Leeboy. I asked the question from the floor and the answer was given by the representative publicly to the floor.

Its grim up north!

Sounds like what Hull did. To be fair, we have tried sharing with the local rugby team and it didn't work. Rugby just isnt popular down here. Nor are any other sports, really...

At that time I was told most of the councillors that counted were rugby supporters and Southend rugby club had no problems when they wanted to extend their stadium at Warners Bridge and what has Southend rugby club done for the town of Southend I couldn't even tell you what league they are in... http://www.shrimperzone.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif

KC Stadium is fantastic, a great arena and really a top class design.

I was not suggesting we should share with the rugby team merely that the council should do more.

Bloody impressive stadium, BTW. What's the "Abertawe" about on the seats?
