Did you know that when he was here, Webby offered him a deal that would have meant him taking a £500 a week pay cut, and that's why he didn't sign.

Yes. I read it in his autobiography, and I posted it on here ages ago. Keep up, Steve.

You mean his joint autobiography. http://www.shrimperzone.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif Anyway, I didn't bother reading the whole lot, just skipped through it in Bluewater on Saturday.
Always liked Woodman I did. O well.

Yeah I skipped through it in Waterstone's. There's a bit more about:
Mel capleton- nicest bloke in football
Chief Steward at roots hall- bit dopey
Alan Little- nicest bloke in football.
Ron Martin- boo!- sacked Little when he went to discuss Woody's contract
The fans- greatest fans in the world
You get the picture.

Andy 'Woody' Woodman was in goal for the last 20 minutes last night for 'Celeb FC' as he replaced John Leslie. Justin Edinburgh was due to turn up, but didnt. The bloke who wore his shirt (the physio) got sent off after kicking the Fash FC skipper, who also recieved his marching orders. Andy Ansah was also there helping out Celeb FC manager Darren Campbell.

I watched about 5 minutes of it before getting bored (and also depressed that a 40 year old TV presenter looked more like a goalkeeper than our current custodian).
Had I known that there was so many SUFC connections I'd have watched the rest of it. What with the opposition being called Celeb FC I wasn't looking out for ex-players.
