An earlier chance for immediate retribution.

I've been contacted by Seasiders (struggling in Div 4 Sceptre) who have a free week this Sunday. Obviously the weather is a big issue but I should know by this time tomorrow, whether we can definitely pen something in.

It would be great to get back to back games in, rather than a game, 3-4 weeks training then a game etc etc, so let's see how we go.

If this is on I'll either give Sutton Sports a miss or discuss other CB options with Snowy & Colin

Can I play if you have a match or maybe ref again if you need a ref!

Jack: Maybe a few more training sessions would be a good idea before you start playing. As for being a ref ... im sure that would be OK. You were an OK. I've seen much worse who are supposedly qualified. As long as you are strong and are in control of the game, reffing can be simple.

Gaffer: Colin is back Sunday but i doubt he will be around in the morning to be able to take charge. Im sure Andee can de-confirm/confirm this!

Lets hope the cold dissapears and i can get out and have a fun runs ....

Think that would be a good game for you and I'd certainly be backing SZ for a healthy victory.

If selected....YES! I got generous odds from Uncle Joe Coral that you will have outscored Kevin Maher by the end of the season.

Keep the faith.....

I'd be there, possibly with the missus in tow to make the support a bit louder http://www.shrimperzone.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

There's no reason we shouldn't be able to beat a Sceptre Div 4 side, not if we play how we know we can.....

You know what I mean! I can tell by the reaction to Sunday that a lot of you felt you can do better than that, and a few silly mistakes and lapses of concentration meant we didn't win it. A little bit more composure in front of goal, not letting a goal in as soon as we have scored and we'd have won. A central midfielder in the second half that didnt just run round like a headless chicken would have helped too http://www.shrimperzone.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif http://www.shrimperzone.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif

Rite this is it lads.
Im gonna feckin score in the next game
If i miss any more easy chances i dont deserve to be in this team. U work so hard to make these chances for me, and i will let u lads down no longer.
I know its not like i havent been trying, but god dam, im gonna feckin do it, even if its the most scappiest goal ever im gonna frigging score!!even if i have to run the length of the pitch. Im gonna chase every ball, even if i aint got much chance, i WANT to score, and aint no septre div 4 team gonna stop me!

Cheers!
I know u lads have been sayin at least u got in the positions etc, but really i know ur thinking deep down that i should have buried some chance, i mean, that one on one on Sunday was feckin criminal considering the way i was puttin them away in training.
And Bobs right, i need to defend more from the front, and im gonna chase every ball and scare the s**t out of everyone with my pace who is within 15 yards of me at least!
Im gonna go in hard as well, like i did in the closing period of both halfs on Sunday, but not for 5 or ten mins here and there but for as much of the 90 mins as i can take it.
I know i can do it, and as many of u have said, i know when i get one, im gonna get lots more!
I just hope that if u stick with me, i can put this all to rest, and put there kepper in the back of there net for many period during the match!

Dave!

yeah Seasiders are a good bunch of lads, their manager/secretary both sit in the South upper and most f their team drink down thew Sarah Moore.

they drew 4-4 all this Sunday just gone, they were 4-3 down and their keeper came up for a corner to grab a last gasp equaliser.

Gotta be honest - it is now Wednesday evening and I've heard nothing. I fear the worst.

This being the case it looks like training for you boys. Meanwhile I shall continue to give the benefit of my experience to Sutton Sports this Sunday.

It may interest you to know that Sutton have already tried to coerce me into contract talks for next season, despite me re-iterating, before September and at regular intervals since, that there is a young bunch of lads that need me far more than they do.

Fear not troops - ORM is on a one way mission.

Kenny - although it appears this is a non-runner it is proof, yet again, of the worth of having our name in lights on the Sceptre main page.

Fantastic website and a massive discussion point for me at next weeks committee meeting. i.e. Sceptre vs SSL.

ORM, having seen you play (albeit one game) and having played in both standards of league I'd suggest you'd be better Sceptre. But as I don't have a vote my opinion means f**k all.

If there is a game, I would not be able to play as the hamstring is still very tight.

If there is training I will pop along if only for the stretching.

Cheers Dave.

And having seen you play (albeit for 30 seconds http://www.shrimperzone.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif) SZFC are missing out on soooo much http://www.shrimperzone.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

SUFC have Fullarton and Husbands that seem to fart and get injured - we have McScriven and Nappy http://www.shrimperzone.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

If we joined SSL we'd be in the current division 6. We'd have no problems with that level whatsoever.

Last time I played Sceptre you were probably still in nappies http://www.shrimperzone.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif. It has come so far since then and in terms of league infrastructure/website etc I'd say it is at least one step ahead of SSL now.

The question for the Committee is simple. Do we want to join a league with its thumb stuck its arse or do we go with the Sceptre ? Btw I've had a long discussion with the Sceptre Chairman this afternoon - (no he didn't bribe me).
