OK time to try something new - I want your votes 3,2,1 with 1 being the best for MOM. Particularly looking for feedback from the sidelines as well.

I'll start, with my reasons but you don't have to give yours. Also (as you'll see from below) MOM doesn't necessarily go the the person who scored the most spectacular goal or created the best moves.

My votes

3 - Twinkle - This might surprise a few people but I've nominated Twinkle. It's very easy to get a feel for the game and see who's doing what playing at the back. Not everything Twinks did came off but I was impressed with the workrate and thought process.
2 - Snowy - Everyone knew Snowy was club captain. He was officially appointed before yesterdays match and displayed the reasons why. Alongside Uncle someone that everyone in the team looks up to and respects.
1 (and my MOM) - Carter - Proved (especially to himself) that he is a great right back

my votes.

3. TWINKLE- everytime he got the bal he tried to do something with it by either playing a pass of trying some skill but he done the centre like a kipper in the 2nd half with that turn.

2. DAN- Played really well and set up alot of chances for the 2 strikers with some good through balls plus used hes speed well.

1- CARTER- Looked very comfortable in hes right back spot with not making 1 mistake i can really note and defended excellently!! MOM

3. Alexis. Shouldn't have been substituted IMO and was very positive in the first half. Obviously couldn't give him MoTM as he only played for a half.

2. Snowy. Did his job properly, unlike a few others (including myself at times). I wont big him up anymore!! http://www.shrimperzone.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

1. Carter. Best game so far and it was a shame he had to go off injured. Im sure he would have done the same Shags did to Benji ... http://www.shrimperzone.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif

Well here goes my votes

3. Snowy - Great goal and stuck to the task in hand. I would have placed him higher but after the little spat with Benjy, the team's confidence seemed to drain away and we started to make silly mistakes. Needs to try to give a more positive vibe to the team.

2. Twinkle - Made some clever runs and looks like he would score if only the ball went his way. Tracked back and made some great challenges. Never stopped chasing the ball. Dave could add that aspect to his game. Defence starts with the strikers!

1. Carter - best game he has had at right back, went in hard but strangely always fair http://www.shrimperzone.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif . And when he got kicked instead of hiding he carried on, well we did tell him to as he should be able to run off the knock he got. Also his fitness has improved.

3 - Dave

2 - Carter

1 - Snowy

3. Twinkle - Made a good impression, and some telling runs. Would have been my man of the match if he had bagged a couple of goals.

2. Carter - Had a chat with him before the game, and did everything asked of him. Great game.

1. ORM - Stood out for me as the best player on the pitch by a long way. Showed composure on the ball, and made a few telling runs forward. Also unfortunate to score when his goal bound effort was blocked by an arm. Made my job a lot easier at the back as well, and covered well when others were out of position.

You'll have my match report tomorrow. But in the meantime:

3. Twinkle- made a lot of good runs

2. Alexis- technically good, always looks for the ball.

1. Got to say Carter. Showed bucketloads of passion, even off the pitch.

3. Carter - Strong in the tackle and a bit of nutter which you need in your team if you want the others to play a bit.

2. Twinkle - The boys got ability. Confident on the ball and reminds me a lot of my old centre mid partner at my last team, I'd love to play along side him.

1. Snowy - For an old boy he's a legend. Good performance from the Alfie Moon look a like.

3. Alexis - By far the smallest out there, but in the first half an hour was also the most physically strong on the ball - particularly with that big ******* of a captain.

2. Carter - Covered for the centre as well - one particularly great ball down the line for his attacking springs immediately to mind.

1. Snowy - Great goal - lead well from the back.

Strange defenders getting the better nods - IMO sometimes we looked intimidated by the opposition - certainly not on skill, but physically.

I also think that we should concentrate a little more in training on tactics - IMO Shagster's throw-in's should have one person near him and then Patsy stuck in the middle, with people waiting for the flick-on's, surprised that that wasn't happening when they both went on.

Well i think we could have had Patsy coming closer to me to draw away the defence from the middle, then i throw it over him to whoever is lurking behind.

There were people waiting for the flick-ons! They never came because Patsy was being marked by 3 or 4 players all the time!

Again why we need to do a little more in training.... besides, Pats was a foot taller than any of them, so it's ideal that he has 3-4 people marking him...

Its obvious. If someone can hurl it in the box make sure people are on the penalty spot to get the 2nd ball. At least 3 times the ball went over Dan's head when he flicked it on but no-one was there!

3. Dan, especially in the 2nd half - won headers, had better balls to feet and worked hard down the right wing.

2. Carter - has started playing better recently and does'nt let his head drop as much as it used to.

1. ORM - purely because I was struggling in an unfamiliar position and he covered my ass!

Since i pick the team, i want my team to think im fair in giving everyone a chance and wont always pick myself.

Also, i had a massive hangover (when i eventully sobered up, about 1045), but shhhhhhh, that wasnt the reason.

Dont know when the site will be finished, i have nothing to do with it.

Chaps,
Sorry to hear about the resuilt from last sunday. Still think the club and results are moving in the right direction. 3 months ago it would have been a white wash.
I have decided that it would be best it I no longer played. The reason being my hours at work have changed and I now have to work 3 sundays in four more often than not.
It would not be fair of me to turn up to one training sesion a month and expect a game.
I would like to wish you all the best over the coming months in the build up to the first season. I will keep an eye out and pop down to watch the odd game. There is no chance I will ref though. http://www.shrimperzone.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Wayne, I'm really sorry to hear that, though in your situation I'd have changed job and woman by now http://www.shrimperzone.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

I'd like to place formally on record my thanks for your help in setting SZFC on its way. In particular in the very early days accompanying me to Vange (I've heard it is rough there!) to make sure my choice of second hand kit purchase was the right one.

You are always most welcome at ALL our functions, not just training and matches, and I'm sure Toddy wouldn't mind handing over the gloves on the odd occassion either. Napster will of course diarise next season to collect your associate membership. http://www.shrimperzone.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

On the debit side this now places Leeboy as reserve keeper. Oh dear. http://www.shrimperzone.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

I reckon Patsy would make a good keeper.
