Red Cards

I had a bloke sent off in my first league game and he has a red card by his name in the player list. But when selecting my match team he doesn't appear in red like my injured players.
Is he available?

not for league of English Cup games, however you can pick them for friendlies so they can still get training. Thus why they are not red!!
