ShrimperZone: Under -vs- Overs Match

[The General]

Just to let you all know that we are planning to have the Unders/Overs match again this year on cup final day, which is on the 22nd May. Let's remember that this isn't just an ShrimperZone FC thing, but for the whole of the site.

I will be the under's manager ('cos im not having MF boss me around http://www.shrimperzone.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif) and im sure Colin may well be the over's manager, and he might even ref again http://www.shrimperzone.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif.

Im sure that the age limit will be 24/25/26 but it all depends on how much interest we get back and im sure that will be worked out nearer the time. After that, i'm hoping some food can be laid on at The Spread before the final, but this is all to be confirmed and is in it's early stages.

The problem with having a match at this time of year is that not many pitches are left up, so Southend High will be our best bet. If not, Priory Park will be the chosen venue. I'll let everyone know on the main board in March that its going to be happening but what i dont want is having 20 people coming along as well as 20 for SZFC otherwise there are going to be some dissapointed little fishes.

If you have any other good ideas for the day, or have any good fundraising ideas for the club, just let myself, or another comittee member know by the 1st March as that is when the issue will be discussed in depth at the next meeting, after the ESC semi-final, so there may be a few who want to listen in and see what we actually talk about.

Has this actually been thought through properly before posting onto the board ? i.e. is it an unders/overs, 5 a side competition, Shrimperzone Family day out etc ?

Should we re-discuss and re-agree our position on this at the next CM ?

With your work commitments i didnt think you would want to take it on as its quite a tough job getting everyone sorted, knwoing names, positions etc... To be honest its only a match so it doesnt really need much preparation. As i said, it twas only a warning for the SZFC players, and as i've said, i'll let the main board know in March once the issue has been discussed more.
