Battrick (http://www.battrick.org.uk)
Basically it's a cricket version of hattrick which starts up on Sunday. It looks like it will be popular and looks a touch more in-depth than hattrick.
Just wondering if anyone else had signed up for it, as places are limited.
Thanks

No worries, it does look blooming good.
Apparently you can view the matches (text-wise) and it plays out over the course of the day.

It all depends on whether you get in or not. They say if you don't then you have to wait until next season! http://www.shrimperzone.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif
It says you'll get the password within 48hours, but I'm not sure when the first match takes place. If I find out I'll let you know

I cant see loads of people finding out about it before it's started, hope not anyway. I've gone for Essex region, so hopefully the majority in there are only people who registered because of this topic, meaning you'd have a good chance.
48 hours is a long time for just a password, annoying that.
Cheers for letting me know if u do find out anything

It's quite a well known game despite the fact that it hasn't even started yet though, so there may be a problem although it is unlikely.
All applications are dealt with manually and that's why they take so long to sort out.

OK from what I understand:
- Teams will be assigned from 4pm Sunday
- Password is sent after you have been allocated a team
- First game is on Friday
- There were 520 people on the England Waiting List yesterday http://www.shrimperzone.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif

Luv 2 but nah !!
It's worth posting the link elsewhere e.g. Cricket Forum.
There may be some uneducated heathen that never read the HT threads.

520?! Bugger, but still it should be ok because they've divided that into 18 counties, or are counties just where you are based?
It also said the pyramid section goes up to 1024 teams, so we should be ok http://www.shrimperzone.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
Cheers for the other info
I applied for this about two weeks ago so fingers crossed I'll get a team.
Waiting list 560 but as far as I can see there will be 640 slots (there are also people playing the beta version who aren't included on the waiting list though).

Applied again yesterday and got an e-mail.
They're going to delete one of my applications so that it doesn't look like I'm cheating

First games are tomorrow I think so they have a fair while to e-mail out passwords.
Don't worry!

I don't think any have been sent out yet. We could be in for a long wait, but at least we have HT matches to "watch" http://www.shrimperzone.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Mate as we both know having a similar name does not mean practically everything about the games website is a duplicate of Hattrick.
Anyway I am not complaining just does seems abit wierd, you know with intellectual property and all that.

I'm sure they must have spoken to the HT gods first, otherwise it could be a very short lived game!
Have now had a gander at my squad, everything is dross except for this chap:
Masimo Saifiullah - 19 yo, BT Rating=12,774
RH Batsman, RM Bowler, respectable form, Healthy
A steady player with mediocre leadership skills and abysmal experience.
Stamina: woeful Wicket Keeping: strong
Batting: feeble Concentration: woeful
Bowling: proficient Consistency: competent
Fielding: abysmal
Typical that my best bowler is also my best wicket keeper!
I have absolutely no batsmen http://www.shrimperzone.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/down.gif
Hong Kong Blue
25-04-2005, 10:45 AM
I still can't get in!
I did have a quick look last night and my team has only 4 players better than mediocre - 2 of whom are keepers!
I do however have quite a few all-rounders meaning that I bat down to number ten!
The General

This 2 blokes look half useful with the ball ...
Dale Akram - 21 yo, BT Rating=6,088
LH Batsman, LH Spin Bowler, respectable form, Healthy
A steady player with proficient leadership skills and abysmal experience.
Stamina: mediocre Wicket Keeping: useless
Batting: useless Concentration: feeble
Bowling: proficient Consistency: mediocre
Fielding: worthless
Roland Tomlinson - 23 yo, BT Rating=6,860
RH Batsman, RFM Bowler, respectable form, Healthy
A destructive player with worthless leadership skills and abysmal experience.
Stamina: woeful Wicket Keeping: competent
Batting: abysmal Concentration: mediocre
Bowling: proficient Consistency: woeful
Fielding: feeble
And this is my batter ...
Jerome Grabben - 19 yo, BT Rating=7,928
RH Batsman, RF Bowler, respectable form, Healthy
A attacking player with worthless leadership skills and worthless experience.
Stamina: mediocre Wicket Keeping: worthless
Batting: strong Concentration: abysmal
Bowling: mediocre Consistency: woeful
Fielding: mediocre
Haven't really got a wicketkeeper, 3 of them are 'competent' (one of which is the bowler above) so will have to invest in one of these little hamsters.
Barmy Army
25-04-2005, 11:46 AM
Got a respectable keeper
1 proficient batsmen backed up by a bunch of competent guys
2 competent bowlers backed up by mediocres, so I bat down to about 7th

There are some limitations though. Due to the limited time and space available, you can only have 10 coaching sessions each week. If you have more specialist coaches than that, then you are simply paying them to sit around each week. Even if you do allocate a player to them, he will never get the chance to train as the net space will never be available.
Is this you can only train 10 full stop or ten per skill ?
The General
25-04-2005, 02:33 PM
Had to read it twice but i think its per skill ...

7. Backroom Staff
In your club info, you can find details of all your backroom staff. You are able to hire or fire these staff at your discretion from here. Before you do though, it may be useful to understand what each one will do for you.
The following are involved in improving the psychical attributes and technical skills of your players (Stamina, Batting, Bowling, Keeping and Fielding). You can read more on how training is organised in the Nets section.
Bowling Coaches - specialist coaches for bowlers. Each bowling coach will provide you with one bowling training spot for the week.
Batting Coaches - specialist coaches for batsmen. Each batting coach will provide you with one batting training spot for the week.
Fielding Coaches - specialist coaches for fielding. Each fielding coach will provide you with one fielding training spot for the week.
Keeping Coaches - specialist coaches for wicket keepers. Each keeping coach will provide you with one keeping training spot for the week.
Fitness Coaches - specialist coaches for all player’s stamina. Each fitness coach will provide you with one fitness training spot for the week.
There is no limit as to how many of each of these coaches you can hire, but there is a limit as to their effectiveness.
As there are only 10 training spots available each week it would be pointless to hire more than a total of 10 of the five types of coaches listed above. If you did, you would only be getting use out of the first 10 – the rest would just sit around collecting their wages!
Coaches generally with be as effective as each other, but there is a situation where this isn't the case. Again you can read about this in the Nets section.

So how many of each staff have we all got? I've got 2 each of the playing staff and 1 of the rest, I'm not sure whether to get more because of the finances, so what has everyone got?
The teams start pretty poor dont they, some real sh*te players in it

Sorry that was me, I didnt realise there was only one slot for friendlies, sorry.
We should get a thread to list all our teams, makes things easier for us to see?
4 bowling and 2 psychologists. Don't need any batting or fielding at the moment as I don't have anyone to train!
Plus there's no training for a week so hiring staff this week is a waste of money anyway.

Bowling Coaches: 1
Batting Coaches: 8
Fielding Coaches: 1
Wicket Keeping Coaches: 1
Fitness Coaches: 0
Sports Psychologists: 0
PR Officers: 9
Financial Advisors: 0

my team are mostly 18 with all of the following
useless
worthless
abysmal
woeful
feeble
so lots of batting training for me
