Yeah Hils - what happened to you?
3mins - how pathetic eh? Still, can only get better.
I'm not finding it boring yet Uncle, but then it was only my first week.....

Debatable.
I think it's a great idea as it's a good way of ensuring people really push themselves.
Probably a good idea to set up a passing exercise of some description for those who drop out early.

I'm really enjoying it, but if it were to get a bit boring there is a lot more different exercises etc that can be incorporated into it to vary it (and keep varying it every week) to keep it interesting.

Its hard for me to tell at the moment really. A month back i'd seemed to be struggling with my fitness (due my illness) and within the last few weeks my energy has come back and i even played about 40 minutes in the centre of midfield, in the afternoon and i wasnt even knackered and people were even commenting on how much fitter i seem. I dont think its boring and its a good way to build the fitness up as it accommodates for everyone.
B is right that something else needs to be done whilst those who have dropped out. Maybe people should bring it upon themselves rather than just sitting around and waiting ... even if its knocking the ball around. As long as you are keeping warm, moving about etc... then its all good.
If it aint broke ... dont fix it!!

maybe just a quick spell of keepy-uppy between those who've dropped out?

Maybe introduce dribbiling at some points. When jumping the people whoe drop out throw balls at people to header back for paractice and at each conrner have aball to knock to smeone ?

The focus needs to be on the fitness rather than the ball work though.
There's loads you can introduce without using a ball - Star Jumps, Squat Thrusts, running backwards (!), instead of touching the ground with any hand there could be calls of 'down right' 'down left' or 'down both' where you touch the floor with your right, left or both hands, you could have one side of the square set out closer together and sidestep diagonally through the cones as if dribbling......

I think last man standing is good, but having more physical exercises afterwards(running backwards, shutle runs etc) is occasionly a bit demanding?

I have to say i have no problem with the fitness work (despite my lack of it - but would rather have a shorter match to work on ball skills, defending, heading, shooting practice etc...

It's the only way we're going to get fit. It's exactly 9 months since we were formed (hooray!) and we still have a lot of fitness to catch up on before we start in a league. if anything I expect this to be stepped up (as well as people using their own time to improve their personal fitness).

I might get slightly better next time as the last two Saturday nights I've had a curry, might have something like chicken the night before I'm not promising anything though!

Indeed. Hence why I joined the gym.
ps I'm now available for a game of squash if anyone fancies it.

I'm sh*t at it - but enjoy it all the same, and try to get back in after I've waved the little white flag.
One thing that ****es me off though is when people need to overtake, sometimes their cutting corners etc. Petty I know, but it's hard for a fat and relativily-old ******* like myself, and it gets quite demorilizing. http://www.shrimperzone.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif
Looking forward to actually getting an improvement on my time though, the only reliable thing about it so far is my steady decline!!
