After a poor start, Essex have now got 3 wickets, including that of former player Habib - for 2, and Leics are currently on 117/3 with Adams taking 2 and Ravi taking the other. Steyn is playing his first game and has managed 6 NB's already!! http://www.shrimperzone.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif Tudor and G Flower missed out on the first XI ...

Now 175-8, quite a collapse from 98-0!

Once Bopara got the vital breakthrough, 2 for Adams, 2 for Gough and 3 on debut for Steyn.

We're struggling to get these last couple of wickets, which happened far too much last year.

That Steyn's rubbish, eh Matt ...

Last day and Essex need 191 to win - what's the weather like in Chelmsford?

Forecast is for sunny intervals.

We've made a decent start 32-0 off 6 overs.

54-2.

Ravi came in at 3 and got a big , fat 0. Why he'd get put up there?

Keep up Kev: he batted at no.3 in his 3 previous innings as well!

A frustrating day yesterday, going back to last year's bad ways of allowing the opposition off the hook with a big lowe-middle order partnership.

Having said that, this total should still be gettable....

127-3 with Ronnie Irani and Andy Flower at the crease...

Is there anyone working/living in Chelmsford today that can tell whether the weather will play a part? Blue skies in London, but the breeze is fresh... http://www.shrimperzone.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rock.gif

7 runs needed, and I'm not sure what part of London you are in but the skies certainly aren't blue above me at the moment!

Irani lbw for 34.

185 - 4, 6 to win

Flower 68*
Foster 0*

Ronnie just out for 37 off of 47 balls, Flower's 68 has taken 100 balls, so I would guess we weren't taking any chances with the weather

Six wicket win, that'll do nicely. Somerset looking likely to beat Durham (120/4 requiring 240) too, so the top of the table beckons http://www.shrimperzone.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

A promising start for the Essex and it looks like Andre and Dazza have began in full flow which is great news.

Alex was only dropped for a rest not because of his form. He has to come back in the team but it looks as though we have selection problems for the right reasons! http://www.shrimperzone.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
