shrimper won 4-1 away. Which last season I only scored 4 goals! http://www.shrimperzone.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif http://www.shrimperzone.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Southend Utd hammered their opponents 4-0 at home. Four different scorers too, dead chuffed with that. I've looked at other teams in my league and i look vastly superior to all of them, so my spending should pay off

Southsea Commoners got battered 4-0. Looking through the other team, they were a bit better but absolutely dominated the midfield and my second best player was never at the races. Need a central midfielder and fast!

Drew 0-0. First scoreless draw for ages

1 chance all game for them, and none for me. They had a much better midfield, so I'll take it.

Lost 2-0. Also noticed that the 190 hatstat team that won my division last year did actually win their qualifier. They've been replaced with a team that posted 213 this week and I'm playing them next Sunday, great!

Lost 3-2 playing 5-4-1 pressing with MOTS - not a good start to the season.

And to cap it all Birri has just injured my keeper in a friendly. http://www.shrimperzone.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mad.gif

Won 6-1 in front of 41,000. Will have an overall midfield rating of passable shortly too, once form and stamina is up.

ORM I have to ask, what made you play MOTS with 5-4-1 pressing?

The idea of pressing is to restrict chances, effectively you are playing for a 0-0 and the game pretty much rests on your defence and defensive capabilities of your midfield. MOTSing gives you a boost to your midfield to increase possession and give you more chances of creating chances, when you press you don't really try to create chances so it's a bit of a waste.

When pressing I always PIC no matter who the opponents are so I can MOTS more often against other opponents that I stand a chance of beating.

I was playing the team that finished third above me beat me twice last season. I thought if I MOTSed it I could possibly get this season off to a good start. Now Birri has injured my keeper (the reserve is a donkey) I'm already resigned to fighting for 4th/5th spot again and using this season to build up training/finances. I am currently 270K in the poo.

So 5-4-1 pressing obviously doesn't work with MOTS ?

If you think you have a chance of winning, MOTS without pressing to allow yourself to create chances. The fact that you scored two means you must have been matching them reasonably well anyway.
