Trundle happy to stay
by Graeme Bailey - created on 10 Jun 2005

Trundle's agent has insisted the Swansea star is more than happy to stay at the club.

The Liverpool-born striker has been linked with moves to Championship sides Southampton and Hull, but he has no intentions of quitting South Wales.

Trundle is contracted to Swansea until 2006 and is very happy following The Swans' promotion last season.

"We have heard nothing of any interest and we would not welcome it," his agent Neil Sang told skysports.com.

"Neil is very happy with life at Swansea.

"The chairman has treated him wonderfully, as has everyone at the club including the fans.

"He loves playing for Swansea and has no plans to leave."

One thing strikes me with this. Surely it should be Lee (As in Trundle) that should be happy with life at Swansea as opposed to Neil (As in Neil Sang, his agent).

A player who often contributes less than his ability can manage. Flash feet and a yard short of pace. A combination that makes him a useful Lg 1/Lg 2 player and no more. He might as well stay as a big fish in the small Swansea pool. Besides, without the protection of the Welsh FA, how much of a season would he play!

Agreed. Trundles good but massively overrated, the way some people talk about him you'd think he'd be Premier$hite material. He's good at this level, though, and I'd be intrigued to see how he'd get on at somewhere like Southampton
