Found out from Mr Harris that there will be the Southend 10KM (6 Mile) soon on a Sunday. Barry will let us know of that date. I'm well up for doing it and me and Barry reckon that the whole team should do it. Get everyone you know to sponsor you (family, friends, work collegues) and all the money goes to ShrimperZone FC. It also could also kick start a few of us lazy ******* into go out running on a more permenant basis as im sure some training will be needed. Even if you walk half of it and everyone only gets like 20 quid each from sponsorship, then thats still way over £200 for the club and with other things in the pipe-line (to be discussed at next meeting - as well as the SZFC Tourno more details within the next few days or so appearing on here AND the main board once the fuss has calmed down).
What do you all think? Who's up for it? It will not only benefit yourself personal(fitness wise - which could influence place in the team), but the club as a whole.

According to Runners world, its on Sunday 3rd October.
Essex 10k runs (http://www.runnersworld.co.uk/events/foundevents.asp?evntTitle=&month=&distance=10&county=65&area=&evntSurface=&sp=&v=2)
We will probably have a league game that day? http://www.shrimperzone.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rock.gif
I'm game if not, providing it doesn't clash with the cancer research 10k run which will also be in October sometime but hasn't been announced yet.

Oh right. I (and i think Barry did) thought it was within the next month or so. If its in October, there's no real point.
... back to the drawing board ...

You are having a f**king laugh, I cannot run from one end of the pitch to the other without being knackered.
I am old, unfit, and will not be taking part.

WALKING, thats nearly as bad!!
Kev, your young enough to be my son, and us old one's are not as fit as you think!!
If I can get my arse in gear I might try to do a bit of running, and see what the coup is nearer the time. http://www.shrimperzone.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rock.gif

No excuse, my Mum and Dad (aged 47 and 51 respectively) trained up for and did a 10k last year with me - they just took longer than I did (my Mum walked all the way but my Dad managed to jog quite a bit).
And I'm young enough to be their son!
